This may include receiving specimens, ensuring accurate entry into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), and /or preparing samples for testing and analysis. Maintains flexibility regarding work schedule including section assignment. This is an onsite role based out of San Diego with a schedule of Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00AM-5:30PM.  Responsibilities: <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">The Tissue Technician I is responsible for specimen reconciling, sample return, and ensuring quality throughout the pre-analytical processes; other duties as assigned</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Multi-tasking efficiently, maintaining flexibility, and working as a team player will be critical while processing samples according to multiple workflows and maintaining established turnaround times</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Capable of identifying specimen processing problems that may adversely affect the reporting of test results and immediately notify the supervisor</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Complete other related administrative duties, including copying, filing and data entry</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Maintain supply inventory logs - materials and laboratory supplies</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Take ownership and accountability of ensuring the highest quality of internal/external customer service</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Participates in projects, research, and validation activities as assigned.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Perform all duties according to guidelines outlined within the quality systems</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Compliant with company policies, procedures, safety requirements and regulations</li> </ul> <h3>Who You Are:</h3> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">High school diploma required; a four-year degree in life sciences preferred </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Minimum of 1 year experience in a laboratory setting desirable </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to collaborate with peers </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, data entry, and use of laboratory information systems </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to work with moderate supervision and exercise good judgment </li> </ul> Physical Requirements:  <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Exposure to general office and laboratory environment conditions </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Handling and disposing of hazardous non-hazardous laboratory materials </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Repetitive movement of fingers, hands, arms and legs </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Manual dexterity and visual acuity for handling and processing specimens </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Sitting, walking, standing, bending, talking and hearing </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including gloves, lab coats, and safety glasses </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Occasionally required to lift to 25 pounds </li> </ul> #LI-Onsite  <div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"> The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience, skillset, geographic location, industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.</div><div class="title">Pay range</div><div class="pay-range">$24—$27 USD</div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion">  <h3>What We Can Offer You</h3> Veracyte is a growing company that offers significant career opportunities if you are curious, driven, patient-oriented and aspire to help us build a great company.
