About the Role

<div class="ui-form-item ui-form-item-horizontal" data-direction="horizontal"> <div class="ui-form-field lifesuite__rte--display"> <div class="ui-form-field lifesuite__rte--display"> <p>cBEYONData, a subsidiary of SMX, is seeking a <strong>Senior Data Engineer / Analyst</strong> to support a federal customer's enterprise data modernization and integration initiatives. This role is responsible for analyzing complex data structures across legacy and modernized systems and translating technical data artifacts into a comprehensive enterprise data mapping framework. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, experience working with relational databases and data models, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical stakeholders across multiple systems and organizations. This role will support enterprise data architecture efforts by reviewing Data Dictionaries, Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), interface specifications, and related technical documentation to establish and maintain authoritative cross-system data mappings, data lineage, and transformation rules. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of independence, providing expert-level analysis and recommendations that support enterprise integration, data governance, and modernization efforts. This role is hybrid supporting a Hanover, MD program.</p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</span></strong></p> <p>• Review, analyze, and interpret Data Dictionaries, Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), interface control documents, and other technical artifacts from enterprise systems<br>• Develop, maintain, and govern enterprise Master Data Mapping documentation to support data integration and modernization efforts<br>• Document field-level mappings, transformation rules, data lineage, and relationships across multiple systems and data sources<br>• Collaborate with system owners, database administrators, developers, business analysts, and architects to validate data definitions and resolve mapping discrepancies<br>• Analyze source and target system data models to identify relationships, dependencies, and integration requirements<br>• Identify data quality issues, redundancies, inconsistencies, and opportunities for data standardization across enterprise platforms<br>• Support enterprise data governance initiatives through accurate documentation and adherence to established data standards<br>• Assist with impact assessments related to system changes, data migrations, and integration efforts<br>• Ensure all data mapping activities comply with DoD security requirements and proper handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)<br>• Support development and maintenance of enterprise data architecture artifacts and documentation<br>• Participate in data modernization and system integration planning activities<br>• Provide recommendations to improve data consistency, interoperability, and enterprise data management practices<br>• Serve as a subject matter expert for enterprise data mapping and cross-system data relationships</p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Required Skills &amp; Experience</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}">&nbsp;</span></p> <p>• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field<br>• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data analysis, data mapping, data architecture support, database analysis, or related technical disciplines<br>• Demonstrated experience reviewing and interpreting Data Dictionaries, ERDs, database schemas, and technical documentation<br>• <strong>Experience documenting data mappings, transformation rules, and data lineage across multiple systems</strong><br>• Strong understanding of relational database concepts, including tables, keys, relationships, normalization, and data modeling principles<br>• Experience working with <strong>SQL</strong> and relational database technologies<br>• Experience collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to gather, validate, and document data requirements<br>• Ability to independently analyze complex enterprise systems and produce accurate technical documentation<br>• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills<br>• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce detailed technical documentation<br>•<strong> Secret clearance</strong></p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Desired Skills &amp; Experience</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}">&nbsp;</span></p> <p>• Experience supporting enterprise data architecture, data governance, or data management initiatives<br>• Familiarity with metadata management and data cataloging tools<br>• Experience supporting data migration, system integration, or modernization efforts<br>• Experience supporting federal government or DoD programs<br>• Knowledge of DoD data standards and enterprise data strategies<br>• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and architectures<br>• Experience working with data quality assessment and data profiling activities<br>• Understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts<br>• Experience creating or maintaining enterprise data models</p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Application Deadline:</span></strong><span data-contrast="auto">&nbsp;</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> 7-31-2026</span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">#</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> LI-SA1</span></p> </div> </div> </div><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>&nbsp;</p> <hr> <p><span style="font-size: 16px;">The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
