About the Role

<p>An Orion Operating Company, Andrew's, is seeking a <strong>Controller</strong> to oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions for a $70 million construction services and maintenance company. This hands-on role ensures accurate financial statements, strong internal controls, job costing discipline, and timely reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making. The Controller will manage the accounting team and work closely with operations, service managers, and ownership.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Financial Management &amp; Reporting:</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and review financial statements, including P&amp;L, balance sheets, cash flow statements. and Work in Progress.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with US GAAP, including&nbsp;proper revenue recognition&nbsp;for percentage of completion accounting and service arrangements.&nbsp;</li> <li>Own and execute a 5-business-day monthly close including GL and intercompany reconciliations while ensuring accuracy and consistency. Assist with preparation of monthly reporting package.</li> <li>Oversee profitability reporting by service line (service, maintenance, construction).</li> <li>Ensure&nbsp;accurate&nbsp;labor costing, technician productivity reporting, and overhead allocation.</li> <li>Establish and enforce internal financial policies and controls.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensure adherence to tax laws, corporate regulations, and financial reporting standards.&nbsp;</li> <li>Own sales tax compliance and reporting across all applicable&nbsp;jurisdictions&nbsp;including preparing and filing&nbsp;sales tax returns on time.&nbsp;</li> <li>Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies for audits and compliance matters.&nbsp;</li> <li>Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring efficiency and professional development.&nbsp;</li> <li>Support senior management with financial insights for business growth.&nbsp;</li> <li>Drive cost optimization and efficiency initiatives to maximize profitability.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Skills:</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA a plus.</li> <li>5+ years of experience in&nbsp;construction accounting or similar role.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.&nbsp;</li> <li>Proficiency&nbsp;in the use of MS Office, ERP&nbsp;systems&nbsp;and financial software.</li> <li>Experience in a service-based construction environment preferred.</li> <li>Excellent leadership,&nbsp;analytical, and communication skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>High attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work under pressure.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>Andrew's determines compensation based on the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Base pay for this position ranges from $155,000 – $165,000, with eligibility for an annual performance bonus on top.
