<div class="content-intro">   </div>Summary The VIP Interior Mechanic 2 works under general supervision to perform removal, installation, and fabrication of VIP aircraft interior components. This mid‑level technician is proficient at reading blueprints, operating tools, and collaborating with the team to ensure high‑quality completion of VIP interiors.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Perform removal, installation, fabrication and refurbishment of aircraft interior components such as galleys, cabinets, lavatories, sidewalls, floors, monuments and decorative finishes.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, instructions, and work orders to determine specifications.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Manufacture and assemble interior components using wood, honeycomb, fiberglass, sheet metal and veneers.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ensure proper fit and alignment of panels, trim, furniture and hardware by drilling, fitting, sanding, and adjusting as needed.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Repair or replace damaged, missing, or defective parts with new or refurbished components.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company guidelines and OSHA regulations.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Inspect and troubleshoot interior components, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Provide technical guidance and support to lower‑level mechanics and assist in on‑the‑job training.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Accurately document work performed, submit reports and complete required reading.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Communicate effectively with co‑workers and leadership regarding progress and any issues.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Maintain clean and organized work area and assist with general shop upkeep.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Perform other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Adaptability- Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, accepts constructive criticism/feedback and changes approach or method to best fit the situation.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Communications- Expresses ideas and thoughts effectively in verbal and written form, exhibits good listening and comprehension, keeps others informed and uses appropriate communication methods.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Dependability- Responds to requests for service and assistance, follows instruction and responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions and doing the best job possible, keeps commitments, and maintains reliable attendance.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Initiative- Sets and achieves challenging goals, demonstrates persistence, and overcomes obstacles, measures self against standard of excellence, recognizes and acts on opportunities, and takes calculated risks to accomplish goals.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Teamwork- Balances team and individual responsibilities, exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit, and puts success of team above own interests.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Work Quality- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, displays commitment to excellence, looks for ways to improve and promote quality, applies feedback to improve performance, and monitors own work to ensure quality.</li> </ul> Summary of Education, Experience & Certification <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">High school education or equivalent.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Four to six years recent applicable installation, fabrication, or related experience on VIP aircraft interiors.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering documents required.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Applicable Repairman, Airframe or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred; or ability to obtain preferred.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">US Citizen Required - this position is located at a facility that requires special access. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">This safety-sensitive position is covered by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment drug testing. Persons occupying a "safety-sensitive” position will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing. Post-accident, reasonable cause, and return-to-duty tests may also be required based on specific circumstances. </li> </ul>   Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to communicate effectively in English (read, write, and verbally communicate).</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply toward problem solving.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn company‑specific software.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to work under general supervision and provide guidance to less‑experienced mechanics.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Proficiency using hand tools, power tools and measuring instrument.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, equipment manuals and work orders.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Knowledge of VIP aircraft interior installation and fabrication processes, including removal and installation of galleys, cabinets, bulkheads, sidewalls, and decorative components.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with composite materials such as wood, honeycomb, fiberglass, sheet metal and veneers.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to work overtime, varied shifts and travel as required.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to work in a team environment, follow established procedures and maintain professionalism.</li> </ul> Physical Requirements <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Able to reach overhead.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Full range of motion with both hands.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.</li> </ul>   The expected WA salary range for this position is between $68,000,000.00 - $93,000.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
