About the Role

<div class="content-intro">   </div>Summary The VIP Interior Mechanic works under general supervision to safely perform aircraft removals, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors (which may include galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, and panels). We have multiple openings for this position.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Manufactures and fabricates monuments from raw materials on VIP aircraft including wood, honeycomb, fiberglass, sheet metal and veneers.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Fabricates, fit trims and installs interior components, galleys, bulk heads, doors, side ledges, game, and conference tables.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Reads and interprets blueprints and engineering drawings.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Performs troubleshooting and repairs to inspect incoming cabinetry and interior, removals, inventory, interior, protection, and proper interior nomenclature for part identification.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform duties.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and make other adjustments, as necessary.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Communicates effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Completes job assignments in a timely manner. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Completes on-the-job-training (OJT) forms and required reading. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Helps with general clean-up of work area. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Responsible for accurately clocking to jobs. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Regular and prompt attendance. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Effective and appropriate conduct with coworkers. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Other duties as assigned. </li> </ul>   Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, accepts constructive criticism/feedback and changes approach or method to best fit the situation.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Communications - Expresses ideas and thoughts effectively in verbal and written form, exhibits good listening and comprehension, keeps others informed and uses appropriate communication methods.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Dependability - Responds to requests for service and assistance, follows instruction and responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions and doing the best job possible, keeps commitments, and maintains reliable attendance.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Initiative - Sets and achieves challenging goals, demonstrates persistence, and overcomes obstacles, measures self against standard of excellence, recognizes and acts on opportunities, and takes calculated risks to accomplish goals.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities, exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit, and puts success of team above own interests.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Work Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, displays commitment to excellence, looks for ways to improve and promote quality, applies feedback to improve performance, and monitors own work to ensure quality.</li> </ul>   Summary of Education, Experience & Certification High School education or equivalent.  Two years of applicable installation, fabrication, or related experience.  Experience in aerospace industry preferred. US Citizen Required - this position is located at a facility that requires special access.  This safety-sensitive position is covered by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment drug testing. Persons occupying a "safety-sensitive” position will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing. Post-accident, reasonable cause, and return-to-duty tests may also be required based on specific circumstances.  Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally communicate).</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem solving.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Works under minimal supervision. </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to work overtime, as required.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to travel.</li> </ul>   Physical Requirements <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Able to reach overhead.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Full range of motion with both hands.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas. </li> </ul> The expected WA salary range for this position is between $56,000.00 - $77,000.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
