At Tidewater Tech, we’re dedicated to shaping the next generation of skilled professionals.</div><h4>Position Purpose</h4> The Combination Welding Instructor is accountable for ensuring students receive quality education through effective in- class instruction, hands-on training, and up-to-date learning materials and resources.  <h4>Job Responsibilities: </h4> <ul> <li>Teach classes as assigned on a regular, scheduled basis as assigned and create a welcoming environment for students conducive to learning. </li> <li>Assist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, and scheduling. </li> <li>Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files. </li> <li>Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and lab. </li> <li>Submit attendance, grades, student evaluation and all other required documents/reports per established procedures. </li> <li>Notify Supervisor of any potential issues that may require immediate attention. </li> <li>Actively utilize proven retention techniques approved by the school. </li> <li>Complete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned by Supervisor and/or campus management, as needed based on outcomes of classroom observations, instructor evaluations, and student-completed surveys. </li> <li>Assist with the department equipment and supplies inventory and submit purchase requests accordingly and as needed. </li> <li>Assist with the maintenance and utilization of equipment used in the program. </li> <li>Attend and/or conduct in-service training, faculty meetings or other mandatory meetings. </li> <li>Alert Supervisor to student absences, especially on first, third and fifth absence occurrences. </li> <li>Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor. </li> </ul>  Required Qualifications <ul> <li>Required to pass 3G and 4G weld tests in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) at interview.  </li> <li>Applicants must also successfully complete a 3/8” single bevel groove plate test with backing in both the 3G and 4G positions. The welds must pass a visual inspection before undergoing and passing a bend test.</li> <li>American Welding Society (AWS) certification (testing/certification provided by TTT).</li> <li>High School Diploma or GED</li> <li>Minimum three (3) years of hands-on practical, related work experience in welding is required</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment. </li> <li>Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. </li> <li>Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism. </li> <li>Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting. </li> <li>Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills. </li> <li>Must be able to work independently and as collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills. </li> <li>Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. </li> <li>Exhibits a positive, team-oriented attitude by remaining flexible and available to work outside of scheduled hours when needed, as directed by the Supervisor.  </li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul> <li>CampusNexus experience</li> </ul> Work Schedule Please note that the final schedule is determined by the needs of the campus     Full-Time (FT) Day Shift: <ul data-start="295" data-end="483"> <li data-start="295" data-end="339">Monday – Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM</li> <li data-start="340" data-end="483">Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM, or 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Flexible schedule to complete 40 hours)</li> </ul> Full-Time (FT) Evening Shift: <ul data-start="526" data-end="630"> <li data-start="526" data-end="571">Monday – Thursday: 1:00 PM – 10:30 PM</li> <li data-start="572" data-end="630">Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM, or 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Flexible schedule to complete 40 hours)</li> </ul> What We Offer The hourly range pays up to $30.00 an hour, based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
