At Tidewater Tech, </span><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW216125108 BCX0">we’re</span><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW216125108 BCX0"> dedicated to shaping the next generation of skilled professionals.</span></span></p></div><h4>Position Purpose</h4> <p>The <strong>Combination Welding Instructor</strong> is accountable for ensuring students receive quality education through effective in- class instruction, hands-on training, and up-to-date learning materials and resources.&nbsp;</p> <h4>Job Responsibilities:&nbsp;</h4> <ul> <li>Teach classes as assigned on a regular, scheduled basis as assigned and create a welcoming environment for students conducive to learning.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, and scheduling.&nbsp;</li> <li>Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files.&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and lab.&nbsp;</li> <li>Submit attendance, grades, student evaluation and all other required documents/reports per established procedures.&nbsp;</li> <li>Notify Supervisor of any potential issues that may require immediate attention.&nbsp;</li> <li>Actively utilize proven retention techniques approved by the school.&nbsp;</li> <li>Complete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned by Supervisor and/or campus management, as needed based on outcomes of classroom observations, instructor evaluations, and student-completed surveys.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assist with the department equipment and supplies inventory and submit purchase requests accordingly and as needed.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assist with the maintenance and utilization of equipment used in the program.&nbsp;</li> <li>Attend and/or conduct in-service training, faculty meetings or other mandatory meetings.&nbsp;</li> <li>Alert Supervisor to student absences, especially on first, third and fifth absence occurrences.&nbsp;</li> <li>Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;<strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Required to pass 3G and 4G weld tests in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) at interview.&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></li> <li><strong>Applicants must also successfully complete a 3/8” single bevel groove plate test with backing in both the 3G and 4G positions. The welds must pass a visual inspection before undergoing and passing a bend test.</strong></li> <li><strong>American Welding Society (AWS) certification (testing/certification provided by TTT).</strong></li> <li><strong>High School Diploma or GED</strong></li> <li><strong>Minimum three (3) years of hands-on practical, related work experience in welding is required</strong></li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment.&nbsp;</li> <li>Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.&nbsp;</li> <li>Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting.&nbsp;</li> <li>Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Must be able to work independently and as collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.&nbsp;</li> <li><span class="TextRun SCXW216136165 BCX8" lang="EN-US" data-contrast="auto"><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW216136165 BCX8">Exhibits</span><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW216136165 BCX8"> a positive, team-oriented attitude by </span><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW216136165 BCX8">remaining</span><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW216136165 BCX8"> flexible and available to work outside of scheduled hours when needed, as directed by the Supervisor.</span></span><span class="EOP SCXW216136165 BCX8" data-ccp-props="{}">&nbsp;</span>&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>CampusNexus experience</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work Schedule</strong></p> <p><em>Please note that the final schedule is determined by the needs of the campus&nbsp;</em>  &nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Full-Time (FT) Day Shift:</strong></p> <ul data-start="295" data-end="483"> <li data-start="295" data-end="339">Monday – Thursday:&nbsp;<strong data-start="316" data-end="337">7:30 AM – 4:30 PM</strong></li> <li data-start="340" data-end="483">Friday: <strong data-start="375" data-end="440">8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM, or 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM</strong>&nbsp;(Flexible schedule to complete 40 hours)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Full-Time (FT) Evening Shift:</strong></p> <ul data-start="526" data-end="630"> <li data-start="526" data-end="571">Monday – Thursday:&nbsp;<strong data-start="547" data-end="569">1:00 PM – 10:30 PM</strong></li> <li data-start="572" data-end="630">Friday: <strong>8:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM, or 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM</strong> (Flexible schedule to complete 40 hours)</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <p>The hourly range <strong>pays up to $30.00 an hour</strong>, based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
