At Tidewater Tech, we’re dedicated to shaping the next generation of skilled professionals.</div><div id="isPasted"> <h4>Campus: 4535 E Princess Anne Rd, Norfolk, VA 23502</h4> Schedule: <ul> <li>Monday - Thursday: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm</li> <li>Friday 6:00 am-12:00 pm</li> </ul> Compensation: up to $80,000 annually  <h4>Position Purpose     </h4> This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Combination Welding Program, including supervision of faculty and staff and performing administrative functions related to daily operations.  <h4>JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES </h4> <ul> <li>Coordinate all aspects of the program, including supervision of faculty and staff and performing administrative functions related to daily operations. </li> <li>Assist Campus and Home Office Education directors in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, class scheduling, and maintaining tools and equipment used by students.</li> <li>Complete instructor and course content evaluations on a regular and timely basis.</li> <li>Conduct faculty meetings and participate in educational conferences, professional training, and seminars, as well as staff and department meetings.</li> <li>Assist in staff management, including interviewing, hiring, administering disciplinary actions, and dismissals.</li> <li>Assign class and teaching assignments. </li> <li>Stand in as a substitute instructor to accommodate staffing needs. </li> <li>Provide tutorial opportunities for students.</li> <li>Advise students for academic and/or behavioral issues, academic progress, attendance or additional concerns and document accordingly. Act as advisor to “at risk” students.</li> <li>Audit all program curricula to ensure that instructors are using the most current syllabi, lesson plans, and textbooks. </li> <li>Ensure program is operating under all Department of Education and Accrediting Commission, federal/state/local laws, regulations, rules and code requirements.</li> <li>Monitor student performance on required projects to ensure proper completion and compliance with the program curriculum.</li> <li>Document, track, and monitor student action notifications in Campus Nexus including attendance, probationary status, recycles, drops, restarts, LOAs, and transfers.</li> <li>Ensure supplies, materials, equipment, and tools are inventoried, maintained, purchased when necessary, and are in place for required class projects.</li> <li>Assist in or manage the design and development/fabrication training aids and materials that meet the requirements and needs of the program curriculum.</li> <li>Work with Education leadership team to design training aids that will help meet the requirements of the program curriculum. </li> <li>Ensure compliance with OSHA and other workplace safety regulatory agencies.</li> <li>Participate in formal and informal mentoring of new employees to support onboarding, training, and joining a positive work culture that supports the institution and its students.</li> <li>Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor.</li> <li>Supervision of the Combination Welding Program staff and faculty</li> </ul> </div> <div> Education  <ul> <li>Must possess at minimum a High School Diploma or GED.</li> <li>Must have at least 3 years of related practice work experience in the combination welding industry.</li> <li>Must demonstrate up-to-date knowledge and continuing study of the subject matter. </li> </ul> </div> <div> Experience/Skills  <ul> <li>Must have proven supervisory experience. </li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment.</li> <li>Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.</li> <li>Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.</li> <li>Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting.</li> <li>Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Must be able to work independently and as a collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills. </li> <li>Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. CampusNexus experience a plus.</li> <li>Exhibits a positive, team-oriented attitude by remaining flexible and available to work outside of scheduled hours when needed, as directed by the Supervisor.</li> <li>Ability and willingness to travel occasionally or overnight for business purposes.</li> </ul> Certificates, Licenses, Registrations  <ul> <li>American Welding Society (AWS) certification within the first 6 months of employment </li> </ul> </div> <div> <h4>What We Offer</h4> The compensation for this position pays up to $80,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
