The opportunity  The Principal Engineer, Equipment Spares & Service will define and lead the strategy for capital equipment spares, services, and sustainment across Magic Leap’s manufacturing and development operations. This role owns a critical function at the intersection of supply chain, equipment engineering, and manufacturing, with direct impact on tool uptime, factory readiness, and cost. You will be responsible for building and scaling a spares and service model that supports high-volume manufacturing (HVM) at semiconductor standards. This is a highly visible, hands-on technical leadership role where you will architect the strategy and drive execution, partnering closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure reliable, cost-effective equipment performance across the installed base. Travel requirement: approximately 75% during the first six months to support onsite ramp and implementation at our Plantation, FL headquarters, followed by 25–50% travel thereafter. What you’ll do  <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Define and implement the end-to-end strategy for equipment spares and services across all operations</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Develop and execute spares planning, inventory optimization, and stocking strategies to mitigate downtime risk</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Establish and scale service models (OEM, in-house, or hybrid), including SLAs and performance management</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Own commercial relationships and contracts for spares, warranties, and service agreements</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Lead supplier engagement for spares provisioning, repair services, and long-term support programs</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Ensure equipment availability and uptime aligned to HVM manufacturing requirements</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Build and drive processes for order fulfillment, inventory management, and reverse logistics</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Partner with manufacturing leadership and tool owners to align service workflows and execution standards</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Define and enforce operating standards for on-site vendor technicians (FSEs), including onboarding, safety, and performance</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Represent spares and service performance in factory and operational reviews, driving continuous improvement</li> </ul> The experience you bring <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">12+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment engineering, or equipment supply chain</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a semiconductor-related field (MBA a plus)</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Deep expertise in capital equipment spares strategy, service models, and tool sustainment</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience supporting wafer fab and/or backend semiconductor manufacturing environments</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Proven track record enabling factory ramps and sustaining high-performance operations</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Strong understanding of equipment reliability, failure modes, and lifecycle management</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers</li> </ul> It’s exciting if you also have <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Strong operational rigor with experience using KPIs to drive supplier performance and accountability</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience managing strategic supplier relationships, including executive-level engagement</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Ability to influence across functions and levels, including manufacturing and development leadership</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience driving operational excellence or digital transformation initiatives in equipment sustainment</li> </ul> Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to Equal Employment Opportunities guidelines.
