The opportunity  As a Senior Equipment Engineering Technician (Etch) within our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing plasma etch systems that are essential to our waveguide manufacturing process. This is a highly hands-on role focused on maximizing tool uptime, resolving complex failures, and driving performance improvements in a cleanroom environment. You will partner closely with Equipment Engineering, Process Engineering, and Operations teams to support high-volume manufacturing and ensure stable, repeatable tool performance. What you’ll do  <ul style="text-align: justify;"> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on plasma etch systems (Plasma-Therm or similar dry etch tools)</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Diagnose and resolve issues across vacuum systems, RF power delivery, gas flow systems, and plasma processes</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic subsystems, including motors, pumps, valves, sensors, and PLC-controlled systems</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Support tool recovery and uptime efforts, minimizing downtime in a high-volume manufacturing environment</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Execute and continuously improve preventive and corrective maintenance procedures</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Partner with Process and Equipment Engineers on tool optimization, experiments, and process stability improvements</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Analyze equipment performance data to identify root cause and recurring failure modes</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Support vendor interactions and escalations, including remote diagnostics and onsite service coordination</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Train and mentor junior technicians; develop SOPs and technical documentation</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Ensure compliance with cleanroom and safety protocols</li> </ul> What you'll bring <ul style="text-align: justify;"> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">5+ years of hands-on experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment, with a strong preference for etch tools</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Direct experience with plasma etch systems (Plasma-Therm, Lam, Applied Materials, or similar)</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Strong understanding of vacuum systems, RF / plasma systems, gas delivery, and process tool integration</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems across electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic domains</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience with PLC systems, sensors, alarms, and system-level diagnostics</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-urgency manufacturing environment</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Familiarity with cleanroom operations and protocols</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience documenting maintenance and work orders in systems such as CMMS or equivalent</li> </ul> It’s exciting if you also have <ul style="text-align: justify;"> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience specifically with Plasma-Therm etch tools</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Prior support of high-volume semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience with RF matching networks, mass flow controllers (MFCs), and vacuum pumps (turbo/roughing)</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Exposure to process troubleshooting alongside engineering teams</li> </ul> Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to Equal Employment Opportunities guidelines.
