This role oversees safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance in a manufacturing setting, focusing on improving reliability, safety, and environmental compliance. The engineer also develops maintenance resources and drives continuous improvement initiatives.</p> <p><strong>Safety:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Champion safety principles, job planning, and process safety initiatives.</li> <li>Ensure assets operate within design parameters and meet regulatory standards.</li> <li>Maintain robust safety practices and assist with hazard assessments to prevent future</li> </ul> <p><strong>Maintenance and Reliability:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement a reliability strategy for critical equipment or systems by utilizing maintenance best practices and KPI’s to improve equipment reliability to enhance operational safety and performance.</li> <li>Develop design, installation, test, and inspection criteria for equipment and suppliers.</li> <li>Inspect new installations to ensure they meet specifications and makes recommendations to modify current installations when needed.</li> <li>Define, develop, and maintain an asset maintenance plan and Mechanical Integrity.</li> <li>Support site Mechanical Integrity element owners and other PSM/RMP/Calarp programs.</li> <li>Develop Continuous Improvement opportunities to remove waste and control cost around plant maintenance.</li> <li>Become knowledgeable on the functionality of the CMMS (Maximo) and historian software (ex. Delta-V PI) to better utilize these systems to improve overall maintenance.</li> <li>Develop, implement, and maintain a process to communicate the plant maintenance/reliability KPI’s based on the maintenance program to ensure quality information is available to evaluate equipment life, performance, and issues.</li> <li>Investigate equipment failures and ‘bad actors’ to determine root cause and implement the necessary corrective actions to eliminate failures.</li> <li>Develop preventative maintenance schedules to ensure the correct level of activity to successfully maintain equipment. Monitor effectiveness and update as needed.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Leadership and Development:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaboration with facilities maintenance and operations teams to drive safety, quality, reliability, and performance.</li> <li>Provide technical and operational support for site regarding plant equipment and operation.</li> <li>Assist in training and development of Maintenance personnel around technical and procedural practices.</li> <li>Identify and attend regular training to improve department knowledge and capabilities including membership in relevant organizations.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Competencies:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Detail Oriented</li> <li>Project and Time Management</li> <li>Analytical thinker</li> <li>Leadership</li> <li>Team Builder</li> <li>Strong communicator</li> <li>Problem Solver</li> </ul> <p><strong>REPORTING STRUCTURE</strong></p> <ul> <li>This position reports to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager</li> </ul> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and work within a technical field, with 5-10 or more years of experience.</strong></li> <li><strong>Three to five years of chemical/food processing or manufacturing experience with supervisory or management experience.</strong></li> <li><strong>Serves as leader of authority with expert-level knowledge in one or more areas. Makes authoritative decisions and recommendations that are backed in data and experience.</strong></li> <li>Plans, organizes, guides projects and consult with others at the facilities.</li> <li>Able to collect, manipulate data and build tools/dashboards to report MI and Reliability. Experience with PSM/RMP or Calarp methodology.</li> <li>Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, design, function, and process. Maximo preferred.</li> <li>Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with employees and management.</li> <li>Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required.
