<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>
<p>The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and effective pharmacy operations while delivering high-quality patient care. This role includes prescription verification, clinical review of patient therapies, medication dispensing, and patient counseling within BioMatrix Specialty Pharmacy and Centers of Excellence.</p>
<p>The Clinical Pharmacist partners cross-functionally with internal teams, including Reimbursement, Nursing, Intake, and Pharmacy Operations, to support optimal patient outcomes and ensure seamless medication management.</p>

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance</li>
<li>Evaluate patient records to ensure safe and effective medication therapy</li>
<li>Provide patient counseling on specialty medications and treatment plans</li>
<li>Monitor drug therapies and recommend clinical interventions as needed</li>
<li>Detect therapeutic duplications, interactions, and contraindications</li>
<li>Oversee and validate pharmacy technician activities and documentation</li>
<li>Collaborate with internal teams to support patient onboarding, referrals, and prescription fulfillment</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation standards (HIPAA, FDA, DEA, ACHC, URAC, etc.)</li>
<li>Support workflow efficiency across intake, dispensing, and delivery processes</li>
<li>Serve as a clinical escalation point for patient care and prescription-related issues</li>
<li>Maintain accurate pharmacy records, documentation, and reporting</li>
<li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory audits</li>
<li>Provide training and mentorship to pharmacy staff, interns, and technicians</li>
<li>Participate in on-call rotation as required</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited program</li>
<li>Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of New York</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of specialty pharmacy therapies and patient qualification processes</li>
<li>Experience delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>3+ years of pharmacy experience (Specialty, Infusion)</li>
<li>Experience supporting specialty pharmacy operations and patient care coordination</li>
<li>Knowledge of payer requirements, reimbursement processes, and specialty drug access</li>
<li>Experience working collaboratively with pharmacy technicians and interdisciplinary teams</li>
<li>Familiarity with CareTend or similar pharmacy management systems</li>
<li>Certification in Good Clinical Practices (GCP)</li>
</ul>
