About the Role

<p>&nbsp;</p> <h2 data-section-id="115i9ww" data-start="542" data-end="561">Position Summary</h2> <p data-start="562" data-end="966">The Touch-Up / Rework Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and reworking printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and mechanical assemblies that do not meet quality standards. This position requires strong soldering skills, the ability to interpret engineering documentation, and experience performing precision repairs on electronic assemblies using hand tools and specialized equipment.</p> <p data-start="968" data-end="1151">The technician will work closely with Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure products meet workmanship standards, IPC requirements, and customer specifications.</p> <hr data-start="1153" data-end="1156"> <h1 data-section-id="1mp0tc3" data-start="1158" data-end="1197">Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h1> <p data-start="1199" data-end="2195">• Perform <strong data-start="1209" data-end="1248">component-level rework and touch-up</strong> on PCBAs including SMT and through-hole components<br data-start="1299" data-end="1302">• Remove and replace electronic components using soldering irons, hot air rework stations, and other repair tools<br data-start="1415" data-end="1418">• Repair lifted pads, damaged traces, solder bridges, and other workmanship defects<br data-start="1501" data-end="1504">• Perform <strong data-start="1514" data-end="1570">wire modifications, jumpers, and engineering changes</strong> per documentation<br data-start="1588" data-end="1591">• Interpret <strong data-start="1603" data-end="1665">assembly drawings, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions</strong><br data-start="1665" data-end="1668">• Use microscopes and inspection equipment to identify defects and verify repair quality<br data-start="1756" data-end="1759">• Conduct <strong data-start="1769" data-end="1811">mechanical rework and assembly repairs</strong> including hardware replacement and structural corrections<br data-start="1869" data-end="1872">• Document rework activity in manufacturing systems or travelers<br data-start="1936" data-end="1939">• Support <strong data-start="1949" data-end="1973">debug and test teams</strong> by troubleshooting assembly failures when required<br data-start="2024" data-end="2027">• Maintain ESD compliance and proper handling of sensitive electronics<br data-start="2097" data-end="2100">• Ensure repaired products meet <strong data-start="2132" data-end="2195">IPC workmanship standards and internal quality requirements</strong></p> <hr data-start="2197" data-end="2200"> <h1 data-section-id="8cidg" data-start="2202" data-end="2238">Required Skills and Qualifications</h1> <p data-start="2240" data-end="2701">• Experience performing <strong data-start="2264" data-end="2313">soldering and rework on electronic assemblies</strong><br data-start="2313" data-end="2316">• Ability to work under <strong data-start="2340" data-end="2380">microscope for fine-pitch components</strong><br data-start="2380" data-end="2383">• Familiarity with <strong data-start="2402" data-end="2443">SMT and through-hole component repair</strong><br data-start="2443" data-end="2446">• Ability to read and interpret <strong data-start="2478" data-end="2529">assembly documentation and engineering drawings</strong><br data-start="2529" data-end="2532">• Knowledge of <strong data-start="2547" data-end="2573">ESD handling practices</strong><br data-start="2573" data-end="2576">• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity<br data-start="2625" data-end="2628">• Ability to work independently and follow structured repair procedures</p> <hr data-start="2703" data-end="2706"> <h1 data-section-id="1yqgftt" data-start="2708" data-end="2734">Preferred Qualifications</h1> <p data-start="2736" data-end="3035">• IPC certification such as <strong data-start="2764" data-end="2805"><span class="hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline"><span class="whitespace-normal">IPC‑A‑610</span></span></strong> or <strong data-start="2809" data-end="2850"><span class="hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline"><span class="whitespace-normal">IPC‑7711/7721</span></span></strong><br data-start="2850" data-end="2853">• Experience with <strong data-start="2871" data-end="2899">BGA/QFN component rework</strong><br data-start="2899" data-end="2902">• Prior work in <strong data-start="2918" data-end="2973">electronics manufacturing or contract manufacturing</strong><br data-start="2973" data-end="2976">• Experience supporting <strong data-start="3000" data-end="3035">failure analysis or debug teams</strong></p> <hr data-start="3037" data-end="3040"> <h1 data-section-id="14xjtr3" data-start="3042" data-end="3065">Physical Requirements</h1> <p data-start="3067" data-end="3219">• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods<br data-start="3113" data-end="3116">• Ability to work under magnification for detailed work<br data-start="3171" data-end="3174">• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally</p> <hr data-start="3221" data-end="3224"> <h1 data-section-id="v2hd6a" data-start="3226" data-end="3244">Work Environment</h1> <p data-start="3246" data-end="3390">This position operates in a <strong data-start="3274" data-end="3303">manufacturing environment</strong>
