Senra Systems is hiring a Senior Accountant to help build and own the company's core accounting function during a period of rapid growth and operational scale-up.  Reporting to the Head of Strategic Finance, you will be a key early accounting hire — taking ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, supporting the close process, and helping establish scalable processes and controls as the company grows. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone who is eager to grow into a broader leadership position over time.  You don't need to have all the answers on day one, but you should be excited about building, learning, and owning your work in a fast-moving environment.  What you'll own: Own Core Accounting Operations  <ul> <li>Execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes </li> <li>Maintain the general ledger and prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements </li> <li>Support AP, AR, payroll accounting, and expense workflows </li> <li>Support accurate revenue recognition and balance sheet reconciliations </li> </ul> Build Scalable Processes  <ul> <li>Help design and document accounting processes that support growth </li> <li>Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual work </li> <li>Support ERP and financial system implementation and optimization </li> <li>Partner with the software team to automate data pipelines that feed accurate, timely financial reporting </li> </ul> Cost & Inventory Accounting  <ul> <li>Assist in building out cost and inventory accounting practices </li> <li>Support standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory reconciliations </li> <li>Partner with operations to track and report on production costs and margins </li> </ul> Controls & Financial Discipline  <ul> <li>Help establish and maintain internal controls and accounting policies </li> <li>Prepare audit-ready work papers and documentation </li> <li>Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and accounting partners </li> </ul> Partner with Finance & Leadership  <ul> <li>Deliver reliable financial data to support forecasting and planning </li> <li>Contribute to management and investor reporting packages </li> <li>Work closely with the Head of Strategic Finance to build out the broader finance function </li> </ul> What you'll bring to the team: Required  <ul> <li>4+ years of accounting experience, ideally including 2–3 years in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm) and 1–2 years in an industry or startup environment </li> <li>Solid U.S. GAAP knowledge and attention to detail </li> <li>Hands-on experience with the close process and financial statement preparation </li> <li>Comfort working in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment </li> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance </li> </ul> Preferred  <ul> <li>CPA certification (or actively pursuing) </li> <li>Exposure to manufacturing, hardware, or inventory accounting — even in an audit context </li> <li>Experience with ERP systems or accounting software migrations </li> <li>Interest in cost accounting and operational finance </li> <li>Startup or high-growth company experience </li> </ul> Success in This Role Looks Like  Within 3–6 Months:  <ul> <li>Owning the month-end close process with minimal supervision </li> <li>AP, AR, payroll, and expense workflows running smoothly with clear documentation </li> <li>Financial statements prepared accurately and on a consistent timeline </li> </ul> Within 6–12 Months:  <ul> <li>Contributing to audit preparation and delivering clean, well-supported work papers </li> <li>Supporting the buildout of cost and inventory accounting processes </li> <li>Helping identify and implement process improvements that improve close efficiency </li> <li>Growing into a trusted partner for the Head of Strategic Finance on reporting and analysis </li> </ul> Compensation:   <ul> <li>Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.  </li> <li>Salary Range: $110,000-$140,000 </li> <li>This is an onsite role at our headquarters in Redondo Beach, CA.   </li> </ul> Benefits:   <ul> <li>Unmatched opportunities to drive impact on a friendly and mission-driven team  </li> <li>Own a piece of the pie with equity participation!   </li> <li>Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability coverage  </li> <li>Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Spending Account (DSA) for health-related expenses  </li> <li>20 vacation days per year and 12 company holidays for rest and relaxation</li> <li>a 401(k) plan to set yourself up for retirement</li> <li>Choose a record you love, and we’ll add it to our growing vinyl collection!  </li> <li>$50/month DoorDash credit – lunch is on us!   </li> <li>Up to $100/month reimbursement for gym memberships   </li> <li>Fully stocked kitchen with snacks and beverages  </li> <li>Regular team-building events, lunches, and the occasional breakfast burrito!   </li> <li>Bright, open office with communal spaces for collaboration and free parking  </li> <li>Conveniently located near the metro, major freeways and local dining spots  </li> </ul> We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
