<p>Job Title: Solution Architect – Multi-Cloud DBaaS Platform (Azure / AWS /<br>GCP)<br>Location: Bangalore<br>Department: Customer Success<br>Reports To: VP Customer Success</p> <p>Role Summary<br>We are looking for a Solution Architect to lead the architecture and<br>technical direction of our multi-cloud Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS)<br>platform spanning Azure, AWS, and GCP.<br>This role will drive system architecture strategy, ensure cross-team<br>technical alignment, and establish scalable, secure, and cloud-native<br>design principles for a globally distributed DBaaS product.<br>The architect will define cloud-agnostic patterns while leveraging cloud-<br>native capabilities across hyperscalers.</p> <p>Core Mission<br> Drive cloud-native architecture strategy across Azure, AWS, and<br>GCP.<br> Ensure cross-functional technical alignment across product,<br>engineering, DevOps, security, and SRE.<br> Design scalable, multi-tenant, high-availability DBaaS systems.<br> Establish reusable patterns for automation, provisioning, and<br>lifecycle management.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities<br>1️⃣ Multi-Cloud Architecture Strategy<br> Define and own the reference architecture for DBaaS across:<br>o Microsoft Azure<br>o Amazon Web Services<br>o Google Cloud Platform<br> Design control plane and data plane separation models.</p> <p> Define cloud-agnostic abstractions for provisioning and lifecycle<br>management.<br> Architect multi-region, cross-cloud DR strategies.<br> Evaluate managed services vs self-managed deployment models.</p> <p>2️⃣ DBaaS Platform Engineering Leadership<br>Design and govern architecture for:<br> Automated database provisioning &amp;amp; de-provisioning<br> Self-service portal &amp;amp; API-driven consumption<br> Auto-scaling and elastic capacity management<br> Backup, PITR, and cross-region disaster recovery<br> Observability &amp;amp; telemetry<br> Cost optimization (FinOps alignment)</p> <p>3️⃣ Database &amp;amp; Engine Architecture<br>Architect and standardize DBaaS support for:<br> Managed services (RDS, Azure SQL, Cloud SQL equivalents)<br> Self-managed containerized databases on Kubernetes<br> Hybrid deployment models (Cloud + On-Prem)<br>Deep expertise expected in:<br> Oracle<br> PostgreSQL<br> MySQL<br> SQL Server</p> <p>4️⃣ Cloud-Native Design &amp;amp; Automation<br> Lead Kubernetes-based orchestration strategies.<br> Define Infrastructure-as-Code standards (Terraform, ARM,<br>CloudFormation).<br> Architect GitOps-driven deployment pipelines.<br> Define CI/CD integration standards.<br> Implement API-first and microservices architecture patterns.</p> <p>5️⃣ Scalability, Reliability &amp;amp; SRE Alignment<br> Define SLOs, SLAs, and error budgets.<br> Architect high-availability patterns per cloud.<br> Design failure isolation and blast-radius reduction strategies.<br> Ensure platform resilience under multi-tenant workloads.</p> <p>6️⃣ Security &amp;amp; Compliance Architecture<br> Implement Zero-Trust architecture.<br> Architect IAM federation across Azure AD, AWS IAM, and GCP IAM.<br> Ensure encryption (KMS / Key Vault / Cloud KMS).<br> Design network isolation (VPC/VNet, private endpoints).<br> Support compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO, GDPR).</p> <p>7️⃣ Cross-Team Technical Governance<br> Lead Architecture Review Boards.<br> Standardize design documentation practices.<br> Align multiple engineering squads on shared cloud frameworks.<br> Reduce technical debt via architecture governance.</p> <p>Required Experience<br> 12+ years overall experience in distributed systems.<br> 5+ years architecting cloud-native platforms.<br> Strong hands-on experience across at least two hyperscalers<br>(Azure/AWS/GCP).<br> Experience designing SaaS or PaaS platforms.<br> Strong database internals and HA/DR architecture knowledge.<br> Expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration.</p> <p>Preferred Experience<br> Experience building or modernizing DBaaS platforms.<br> Multi-cloud networking design (VPN, Peering, PrivateLink,<br>Interconnect).<br> Cost governance &amp;amp;
