Your Role and Impact  HYPR is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who cares deeply about building secure, high-quality software—and wants to work on problems that actually matter. You’ll design, build, and operate core components of HYPR’s security platform, used by Fortune 500 companies: <ul> <li>Passwordless authentication and identity verification systems built on open standards</li> <li>W3C-compliant authentication servers and large-scale distributed systems</li> <li>Security-focused infrastructure and application workflows</li> <li>Emerging capabilities at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI</li> </ul> “If you're passionate about cyber security, scalable architectures, and impactful engineering, HYPR will be a great fit for you.” What you will do in this role <ul> <li>Design, develop and deploy SaaS services end-to-end—from understanding requirements and designing solutions to deployment, production support, scalability and performance</li> <li>Be on the fore front of AI-native SDLC by using agents throughout design, coding, testing, and documentation</li> <li>Research new technologies and solutions to improve existing products and explore new directions</li> <li>Implement comprehensive automated testing at the component level and collaborate with SDET(s)</li> <li>Participate in standards bodies and shape next-generation standards like W3C, WebAuthn, and OAuth</li> <li>Work directly with customers - product calls to understand the problems and an on-call rotation of incident escalation</li> </ul> Who you are <ul> <li>Self-starter—able to dive into an existing product and learn quickly in a fast, hands-on environment</li> <li>Team player—collaboration with team members, operations, and support teams is critical</li> <li>Detail-oriented—takes pride in writing high-quality, maintainable code and following best practices</li> <li>Security-minded—interested in the cybersecurity domain; previous exposure or participation is a plus</li> <li>Autonomous and accountable—takes ownership of work and drives it to completion; actively assists in the production support aspects of your work as needed</li> </ul> Required Qualifications Expert-Level <ul> <li>Java SE 21+ and Spring/Quarkus</li> <li>Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform</li> <li>Cloud-first development experience—AWS, Azure, or similar</li> <li>Datastores, one or more of: MySQL, Oracle, DynamoDB, Redshift, Redis</li> </ul> Strong <ul> <li>CS algorithms, data structures, clean code, and scalability design patterns</li> <li>Scalable services—multi-region, graceful degradation, and elastic capacity</li> <li>One major JS framework—Angular, React, or Vue</li> <li>Observability techniques and tools—events, metrics, OpenTelemetry</li> <li>Continuous deployment methodologies—unit, acceptance, and load testing approaches</li> <li>Kotlin development experience</li> </ul> Preferred <ul> <li>Authentication protocol knowledge is highly valued—OAuth, SAML, WebAuthn, PKI, Kerberos, FIDO/FIDO2</li> <li>Keycloak, Ping or Okta authentication server</li> <li>One Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tool—Terraform, Helm, AWS CloudFormation</li> <li>Dynamically typed language—Python, Ruby, or similar</li> </ul> Experience 10+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining an enterprise web-based platform that services at least 100K users. Can be SaaS or on-premise Education BS/MS in computer science or a related software engineering field.
