The AI Consultant works directly with our client businesses, uncovering opportunities and then designing and implementing solutions for AI to deliver real business value. You'll be on-site at small and mid-size businesses interviewing leaders, operators, mapping processes, building the business case, and owning client outcomes from first conversation through post-deployment adoption. Depending on the complexity of the solution you will also work closely with our AI Engineer to create and implement these changes. In either case, you will drive positive outcomes for our clients.  This is a hands-on, client-facing strategy role built for someone who is as comfortable diagramming a workflow with C-Suite leaders as they are co-piloting a build session with engineers.  Your work as an AI Consultant will include several components:  <ul> <li>Serve as a trusted technical advisor, translating complex AI capabilities into clear business value for non-technical stakeholders</li> <li>Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities</li> <li>Work closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing on marketing, pipeline development, collateral, pricing discipline and conversion from AI Launchpad engagements into the AI Managed Service</li> <li>Work closely with the Senior Partners and Partners to generate leads from current clients</li> <li>Lead and deliver the AI Launchpad Service, a consulting engagement designed to ramp up the benefits of AI for our clients</li> <li>Embed directly with clients to run discovery, interviewing operators across roles, observing live workflows, and mapping current-state processes that surface high-ROI opportunities for AI and automation </li> <li>Build the business case for each engagement: quantify the cost of the status quo, model expected ROI, and prioritize a sequenced roadmap of automation opportunities the client can act on </li> <li>Design future-state workflows in detail: process diagrams, decision logic, exception handling, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and integration touchpoints, all to a level of specificity engineering can build against </li> <li>Partner with AI Engineers throughout the build, translating client requirements into technical specs, validating outputs against business intent, and brokering trade-offs (quality vs. speed vs. cost vs. risk) in plain language </li> <li>Lead change management on the client side: stakeholder alignment, communication plans, training rollout, and adoption tracking  </li> <li>Own the client relationship end-to-end: scope, expectations, status updates, escalations, and executive readouts. Serve as the single point of accountability for client outcomes </li> <li>Run post-deployment business reviews to measure realized impact, surface follow-on opportunities, and build the case for portfolio expansion </li> <li>Contribute internally by codifying reusable discovery frameworks, ROI models, workflow templates, and industry playbooks that scale across the practice</li> </ul> Our ideal AI Consultant has the following qualifications:  <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience with demonstrated results</li> <li>To be considered, you must have the right to work in Australia without restriction</li> <li>2+ years of professional experience in management consulting, IT service management, operational leadership, deployment strategy, technical program management, operations, or a similar client-facing strategic role</li> <li>Demonstrated track record of driving complex projects to measurable outcomes in client or stakeholder-facing environments </li> <li>Strong analytical foundation — comfortable with spreadsheets, ROI modeling, basic SQL, and quantitative reasoning.</li> <li>Working knowledge of modern AI capabilities and what LLMs, agents, and RAG systems can and can't do and the judgment to scope realistic AI solutions vs. avoid AI theater </li> <li>Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-moving client environments. You attack messy problems without waiting for a project plan </li> <li>Exceptional communication skills. You can run a discovery interview with a warehouse foreperson and an executive readout with a CEO on the same day </li> <li>Problem-solver who gets energy from sitting across the desk from a real operator and figuring out where the friction actually is</li> <li>Willingness to travel regularly to client sites throughout the Perth region</li> </ul> Preferred  <ul> <li>Prior consulting experience at a top firm (MBB, Big 4 Strategy, Deloitte, Accenture, or boutique strategy/operations firm) or a deployment-strategy / forward-deployed role at a software company </li> <li>Experience leading process re-engineering, workflow automation, or digital transformation engagements end-to-end </li> <li>Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n) or major SaaS systems (CRMs, ERPs, ticketing, document management) at the level of "I can spec an integration without help" </li> <li>Experience working with SMB clients across industries such as professional services, healthcare, logistics, or retail</li> <li>Existing knowledge of MSP operational platforms and the managed services business model</li> </ul> Lyra Tech Group is an equal opportunity employer.
