To learn more, visit www.habitathealth.com.</div>Estimated Start Date: 11/30/2026 Role Scope:  The Kitchen Coordinator is accountable for assisting in the provision of safe, therapeutic nutrition services at the Habitat Health day centers. The Kitchen Coordinator receives vendor-prepped food, prepares it for participant meal service, verifies the temperatures of cooling and warming equipment are recorded as directed, and ensures that the kitchen area remains clean and sanitary at all times.   Core Responsibilities & Expectations for the Role  <ul> <li>Contribute to a center experience that Participants want to spend time in, a team culture that cares and creates joy, and an environment where all participants and team members belong.  </li> <li>Continue to raise the bar.  Constructively seek and share feedback and help us implement changes in order to improve clinical outcomes and experience for participants.  </li> <li>Exhibit and honor Habitat’s values.  </li> <li>Assist the Registered Dietitian in provision of safe, therapeutic nutrition services that meet the diverse needs of Habitat Health participants.  </li> <li>Maintain acceptable storage standards of vendor-prepared food prior to meal service.  </li> <li>Measure and record food temperature on delivery and at regular intervals prior to serving, assuring that food remains safe and within the ranges indicated in Habitat Health policies & procedures.  </li> <li>Prepare and plate food for meal service, following instructions on participants’ dietary cards for specific diets, preferences, and special needs.  </li> <li>Label and date all perishable food in Habitat Health refrigerators and freezers, including any pre-packaged meals for home delivery, making sure all food is fresh and safe for consumption.  </li> <li>Record inventory on dishes, silverware, food supplies, and cleaning supplies, and place orders for replacements as needed.  </li> <li>Performs related duties as assigned.  </li> </ul> Required Qualifications  <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalency with at least one (1) year of experience with large-batch/institutional cooking, menu adherence, and ordering </li> <li>CA Servsafe and Food Handlers Certification </li> <li>Ability to procure food from approved sources and store, prepare, distribute, and serve food under sanitary conditions </li> <li> Ability to execute modified or therapeutic diets as directed by the interdisciplinary team and registered dietitian.  </li> <li>A state issued driver’s license, personal transportation, and auto insurance as required by law.  </li> <li>Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment  </li> <li>Aligns with our purpose and our values, and is excited about living those out in daily practice </li> <li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with comfort navigating ambiguity, adapting quickly, and contributing to continuous improvement. </li> <li>Strong learning and growth mindset, including seeking feedback, engaging in healthy debate and using data and curiosity to inform decisions. </li> <li>Acts with integrity and ownership, considering the broader organizational impact, doing the right thing, and following through to deliver results. </li> </ul> Nice to have:  <ul> <li>Knowledge of basic nutrition for a geriatric population  </li> <li>Bilingual: Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred </li> </ul> Essential Functions & Physical Requirements  The following statements describe the general nature of work and physical expectations common across roles at Habitat Health. The final compensation offered will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, education, certifications, geographical location, and business needs.
