Monitors the volume and quality of output and adjust tasks, timing, equipment set-up, or inputs so that production goals are met, and resources are used efficiently. Supervises staff to ensure that all production tasks are performed, and all machines and equipment are operated safely.&nbsp; Ensure new workers are trained in the organization's operating procedures and standards. Prepare production reports and reviews with a cross-functional team providing production information and identifies any issues to be resolved.</p> <p>Measures of success:</p> <ul> <li>Percent Production Schedule Attainment</li> <li>Percent of Labor Variance to Standard</li> <li>Inventory Accuracy achieved</li> <li>Cost of Quality achieved</li> <li>Ensure safety policies are followed</li> </ul> <p><span style="color: #007635;"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Ensures safety and housekeeping of the assigned area and that all employees meet company established safety and quality requirements.</li> <li>Meeting / exceeding the assigned cells expected monthly output and revenue targets (daily/weekly) set by the monthly Production Plan while adhering to the Plan.</li> <li>Daily follow up, review and actions to ensure all direct labor employees adhere to the clock-in / clock-out required steps while working on orders.</li> <li>Accurate material inventory (WIP and RAW) on the floor, inventory.</li> <li>Manage the cost of quality with regard to scrap, customer returns, and / or corrective actions.</li> <li>Cross-train all personnel in your departments, and other areas of the organization.</li> <li>Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment. Responsible for maintaining acceptable quality levels for all assigned products.</li> <li>Ensure operators receive required training and periodically evaluates employees to ensure they are meeting production standards and metrics. Training/cross-training to be up to date on the HR system.</li> <li>Organize workflow and makes corrections to ensure production plan is achieved.</li> <li>Assures that established policy, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.</li> <li>Use problem solving methods (DMAIC) to continuously improve quality, safety, and efficiency of manufacturing cells.</li> <li>Distributes department status reports and reviews with a cross functional team.</li> <li>Comprehends product specifications and other required documentation assigned.</li> <li>Reports any process and/or equipment problems.</li> <li>Troubleshoots problems as needed.</li> </ul> <p>People Management</p> <ul> <li>Evaluates team members to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement; collaborate on development actions and ensure resources necessary to complete actions.</li> <li>Ensure daily and accurate employee transfers between cells on the time clock system.</li> <li>Cascades relevant and appropriate information about the company and department effectively and in a timely manner.</li> <li>Coaches and mentors for skill and knowledge development.</li> <li>Executes necessary responsibilities of team during absences or alternate engagement.</li> <li>Ensures team adheres to company policies, practices, and department standards.</li> <li>Assigns actions and ensure completion.</li> <li>Reviews work quality and provide feedback and guidance to team.</li> </ul> <p><span style="color: #007635;"><strong>Qualifications</strong></span></p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree from a two-year accredited college or technical school; equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree</li> <li>Minimum seven (7) years’ experience working in a production / manufacturing environment.</li> <li>Minimum five (5) years’ experience in various leadership roles and / or supervisory roles.</li> <li>Six Sigma yellow belt certification</li> <li>Demonstration of progressive roles.</li> <li>Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude.</li> <li>Knowledge of equipment, tooling, and processes in a manufacturing environment.</li> <li>Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, 5S and Continuous Improvement concepts.</li> <li>Prior use with various Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and/or Manufacturing Execution System (MES) systems.</li> <li>Good understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints to the extent required to instruct production personnel with adequate clarity and detail.</li> <li>Good verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Some travel may be required but will be minimal if any.</li> </ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.</li> <li>Six sigma green belt or higher certification.</li> <li>Prior work experience in an ISO (22000, 9000, 14001, etc.) management system.</li> <li>Certifications in leadership development.</li> <li>Forklift operator and / or material handling equipment license.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><span style="color: #007635;"><strong>Management</strong></span></p> <p>This position has a varying number of direct report(s).&nbsp; Roles include:</p> <ul> <li>Production leads</li> <li>Manufacturing / production operators</li> <li>Material handlers</li> </ul> <p><span style="color: #007635;"><strong>Work Environment</strong></span></p> <p>The job is located on the production floor. Could involve extended periods of standing or walking; or sitting while using a computer or other devices are common. There will be exposure to moving vehicles, and equipment and machines. There will also be use of a computer and technology. Verbal and auditory capability are required.&nbsp;</p> <p>This is an onsite position.</p> <p>Occasional exposure in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent.
