IT Support Technician (Part-time) at Lunar Energy

<p>At Lunar Energy, we're on a mission to transform the way we power our homes by building an ecosystem of all-electric products, starting with a next-generation home battery system and a cloud PaaS to manage large fleets of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) assets. Comprising a team of visionary entrepreneurs and dedicated technology and industry experts, we're united by our shared vision of deploying and building products to electrify homes that are connected through an integrated software platform.</p> <p>We’re looking for an <strong>IT Support Technician to</strong> be our in-office IT presence at our London office. This is a part-time role.</p> <p>Because the majority of our team works remotely, the office is at its busiest when employees come in - typically two days a week. You'll be the first point of contact for any IT issues that arise, keeping things running smoothly so our UK team can focus on their work.</p> <p><strong>Your Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p><strong>On-site IT support:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Be the first point of contact for all in-office IT issues on days when employees are on-site</li> <li>Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems on Mac and Windows devices</li> <li>Carry out break/fix repairs on employee laptops and peripherals</li> <li>Manage loaner devices and maintain a clean, well-stocked IT equipment store</li> </ul> <p><strong>Conference rooms &amp; AV:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure all meeting rooms are fully operational — displays, cameras, microphones, and video conferencing kit</li> <li>Troubleshoot AV and conferencing issues (Zoom/Meet/Teams) promptly so meetings can proceed without disruption</li> <li>Carry out regular checks of meeting room equipment and proactively flag or fix issues</li> </ul> <p><strong>Network &amp; connectivity:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Monitor office Wi-Fi and wired network performance and resolve connectivity issues</li> <li>Troubleshoot basic network problems (DHCP, DNS, access point issues) and escalate complex issues to the wider IT team</li> <li>Liaise with the ISP or building management for connectivity faults</li> </ul> <p><strong>General IT operations:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist with device setup, imaging, and preparation for new starters</li> <li>Maintain accurate asset records for all office IT equipment</li> <li>Keep the IT area tidy, organised, and well-documented</li> <li>Log and track all support tickets, escalating to remote IT team members where needed</li> <li>Use Claude and Gemini to help diagnose issues, draft documentation, and work more efficiently day-to-day</li> </ul> <p><strong>Your key skills &amp; experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>2–3 years of desktop support or IT technician experience&nbsp;</li> <li>Confident troubleshooting Mac and Windows devices at 1st and 2nd line level</li> <li>Hands-on experience with break/fix hardware repairs and peripheral setup</li> <li>Practical experience with conference room AV and video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, or similar)</li> <li>Working knowledge of office networking - Wi-Fi, switches, basic DNS/DHCP troubleshooting</li> <li>Familiarity with MDM tools for device management (e.g. Kandji, Jamf, or Intune)</li> <li>A proactive, organised approach - you spot issues before they become problems</li> <li>You are friendly, patient, and calm under pressure and enjoy helping people</li> <li>You enjoy practical, people-facing work</li> <li>You take pride in keeping a workplace tech environment in great shape, and are comfortable using AI tools, particularly Claude and Gemini as part of their everyday workflow.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with Google Workspace or Okta administration</li> <li>Familiarity with IT ticketing systems (Jira, Freshservice, or similar)</li> <li>Basic scripting knowledge (Bash, PowerShell) for repetitive tasks</li> </ul> <p><strong>Joining us gives you:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A competitive salary and stock options package</li> <li>Access to a private Medical Insurance scheme through BUPA (medical history disregarded)</li> <li>A wellbeing and lifestyle benefits plan through Medicash</li> <li>5% employer contributions pension matching</li> <li>Life assurance &amp; income protection schemes (available after 12 months of service)</li> <li>A budget of £1,000 per financial year for work-related training and an allowance of 4 training days.</li> <li>Cycle To Work scheme and Workplace Nursery benefit.</li> <li>Access to Spill - a Mental Health Support platform.</li> <li>Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Pay</li> <li>25 days of annual holiday entitlement plus 8 Bank Holidays.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Duration: </strong>Part-Time (20 hours per week) Core hours are to be confirmed, but you should be available during standard business hours&nbsp; likely mid-morning to early afternoon (e.g. 10am–2pm), with the remainder to be agreed</p> <p><strong>Location: </strong>Office near Spitalfields market, London (E1)</p> <p>We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of race, sex, ethnicity, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, nationality, age or social background.
