Manager, Baseball Operations at Major League Baseball

<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Major League Baseball is looking for a Manager, Baseball Operations to join our Baseball &amp; Softball Development team. This person would Coordinate and assist with the administrative baseball functions of the Compton Youth Academy, assist Academy Director and Office Manager in planning, development, promotion and coordination of MLB Youth Academy programs.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Coordinate daily administrative tasks, including answering phones, taking notes during staff meetings,&nbsp;communicating information to staff</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Coordinate Academy registration, attendance programming and communication through League Apps Academy player management system</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Coordinate planning and execution of various MLB Youth Academy events (clinics, camps, showcases, community events, golf tournament, outreach)</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Coordinate and assist with program oversight of the various Baseball programs offered at the Academy</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assist Coordinator of Baseball Instruction with administrative tasks as requested ( rosters, lineups, registrations, charts, player development plans and scouting reports)</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assist with office administrative duties as assigned by Academy Director and Office Manager</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Perform related duties to Dodgers Dream team as needed</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assist with Academy baseball instruction/team coaching as needed</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Serve as General Manager/administrative lead for the Academy Barons summer baseball team</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Qualifications &amp; Skills</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor's degree preferred</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Organized, efficient and exceptional communication (oral and written) skills</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrate ability to work independently, take initiative and maintain composure under pressure</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Able to work extended hours and weekends during spring and summer seasons</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Travel</strong> – 25% local overnight travel expected around All Star and Spring Break events</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Salary Range:</strong> $75,000 - $95,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
