The role translates business needs into durable platform capabilities, ensuring solutions are reusable, maintainable, and aligned with long-term system design and governance standards.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Working within an Agile product delivery model, this role contributes to both the continuous evolution of the platform and the reliability of core services. The Platform Engineer partners closely with Product, Data, and Integration teams to deliver cohesive, end-to-end solutions across the People Technology ecosystem.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">This role is suited for individuals who combine strong functional understanding with a systems approach, and who are motivated to build, improve, and scale enterprise platforms over time.</span></p> <h2><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>What you'll be doing:</strong></span></h2> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Platform Engineering &amp; Solution Design</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Design, configure, and implement scalable Workday platform solutions across core HR domains, including business process frameworks, organizational structures, eligibility rules, and calculated fields</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Define and apply configuration design patterns that promote reuse, scalability, and maintainability across the platform</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Translate business problems into well-structured system solutions, ensuring alignment with platform capabilities, governance standards, and long-term sustainability</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Evaluate solution options and make informed design decisions, balancing business needs, system constraints, and operational considerations</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Own end-to-end delivery of platform changes, including design, build, testing, and deployment readiness</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ensure solutions are consistent with broader platform architecture and avoid fragmented or one-off implementations</span></li> </ul> <h2><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Platform Ownership &amp; Operations</strong></span></h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Act as a platform owner for assigned Workday domains (e.g., Core HCM, Absence, Compensation, Talent), accountable for system behavior, design integrity, and continuous improvement</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Maintain platform reliability through issue diagnosis and resolution, identifying root causes and implementing structural improvements to reduce recurrence</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Partner with team members to prioritize demand, balancing business urgency with platform sustainability and capacity</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with multi-functional teams (e.g., integrations, data, security) to deliver cohesive, end-to-end platform solutions</span></li> </ul> <h2><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Data &amp; Reporting Solutions</strong></span></h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Design and deliver scalable reporting and data solutions, including Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports, as part of the broader People data ecosystem</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Develop and maintain calculated fields and data structures to support both operational and analytical use cases</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data across Workday processes and outputs</span></li> </ul> <h2><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Delivery &amp;
