We strive to instill in all of our employees:</p> <ul> <li>A positive mental attitude that helps us to be a leader in the industry</li> <li>A commitment to building strong relationships, both inside and outside the organization</li> <li>A desire to learn, grow, and contribute to moving our strategy forward</li> <li>A need to create and to innovate</li> </ul></div><p><span style="color: #007635;"><strong>Employment Type: </strong><span style="color: #000000;">Regular Full-Time Hourly</span></span></p> <p><span style="color: #007635;"><strong>Shift:&nbsp;</strong><span style="color: #000000;">1st Shift</span></span></p> <p><span style="color: #007635;"><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="color: #007635;"><strong>Work Status: </strong><span style="color: #000000;">On-site</span></span></span></span></p> <p><span style="color: #007635;"><strong>Position Summary</strong></span></p> <p>The Welder B performs a variety of routine welding duties.&nbsp; They typically operate subarc machines to complete circumferential and longitudinal welds on tanks, heat exchanger shells and nozzles.&nbsp; This role welds using gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and flux cored arc welding (FCAW) processes on fillet joints and groove joints without backing.</p> <p>Measures of success:</p> <ul> <li>Full understanding of relevant Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and the ability to follow all parameters within.</li> <li>Timely completion of all welding operations within the operational time limits and according to Taco’s quality protocols.</li> <li>Capability of fillet and groove welds with the use of backing in both the horizontal and flat positions.</li> </ul> <p><span style="color: #007635;"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Works from standard drawings, specifications, WPS and verbal instructions.</li> <li>Uses various types of welding equipment and a variety of common hand and power tools.</li> <li>Performs standardized work welding tanks and heat exchanger shells using the submerged arc welding (SAW) process, with backing, in the flat position.</li> <li>Performs routine standardized work, welding sub-assemblies and other components using the FCAW/GMAW welding process, with backing, in the flat and horizontal position.</li> <li>Reads and interprets simple drawings and performs simple layouts.</li> <li>With assistance and supervision, may perform more complicated welding using various equipment.</li> <li>Reads appropriate Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and is capable of interpreting welding variables and assures that all parameters within the WPS are adhered to.</li> <li>Monitors quality of work, makes corrective adjustments and reports equipment malfunctions, defective materials or other unusual conditions to supervisor.</li> <li>Maintains necessary records, completes transactions within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and accesses company intranet as needed for work instructions.</li> <li>Maintains work area in neat, clean, and orderly condition and observes all safety regulations and practices.</li> <li>Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.</li> </ul> <p><span style="color: #007635;"><strong>Qualifications</strong></span></p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li> <li>Must be able to pass American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Section IX welding tests with the following variables: <ul> <li>FCAW/GMAW and SAW processes</li> <li>Steel-steel, steel-stainless, stainless-stainless material</li> <li>Flat and horizontal positions</li> <li>With backing</li> </ul> </li> <li>1 year of experience with manual or machine welding</li> <li>Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and effectively apply to assigned work</li> <li>Ability to navigate multiple windows in company ERP system to access production and resource data</li> <li>Ability to perform repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity, including standing and lifting</li> <li>Ability to manage time effectively to meet strict time deadlines and production volumes</li> <li>Requires judgment to comply with instructions, prescribed routines, methods and practices</li> <li>Minimal/no travel required</li> </ul> <p><span style="color: #007635;"><strong>Work Environment</strong></span></p> <p>This position works primarily in a production floor environment where large equipment and noise are prevalent.
