<h4><strong>Specific Role:</strong></h4> <p>The Janitor plays a vital role in keeping EMIT’s facility safe, clean, and welcoming. With a strong eye for detail and pride in their work, this role ensures that all workspaces - including offices, restrooms, break areas, and production zones are sanitized, stocked, and maintained to support a healthy and productive environment.</p> <h4><strong>Key Accountabilities:</strong></h4> <p>Cleaning &amp; Sanitizing Indoor Areas</p> <ul> <li>Clean and disinfect restrooms, breakrooms, and high-touch surfaces.</li> <li>Flush drains in restrooms and breakrooms as needed.</li> <li>Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors across offices, hallways, and shared spaces.</li> <li>Dust and wipe down furniture, counters, fixtures, and equipment.</li> </ul> <p>Waste Management</p> <ul> <li>Empty and clean trash and recycling bins regularly.</li> <li>Transport waste to proper disposal or recycling areas.</li> <li>Ensure all bins are relined and ready for use.</li> </ul> <p>Supply Stocking &amp; Equipment Care</p> <ul> <li>Restock soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other consumables.</li> <li>Maintain and clean janitorial equipment.</li> <li>Monitor inventory levels and request resupplies before running low.</li> </ul> <p>Safety &amp; Maintenance Awareness</p> <ul> <li>Identify and report maintenance needs or safety concerns (e.g., leaks, trip hazards, broken fixtures).</li> <li>Support internal safety and cleanliness standards.</li> <li>Use appropriate signage during cleaning activities (e.g., wet floor signs).</li> </ul> <p>Light Outdoor Upkeep</p> <ul> <li>Perform seasonal outdoor tasks such as snow removal, de-icing, sweeping entryways, and leaf cleanup.</li> <li>Maintain neat, hazard-free entryways and walkways.</li> <li>Collect debris from parking lots and keep outdoor seating areas clean.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>Qualifications:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred, but not required.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment.</li> <li>Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently.</li> <li>Willingness to perform both indoor and outdoor cleaning tasks in varying conditions.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>Physical &amp; Safety Requirements:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.</li> <li>Comfortable standing, walking, and moving for the duration of a shift.</li> <li>Always use proper PPE when required.</li> <li>Follow safety protocols when using tools and handling cleaning materials.</li> </ul> <h5 style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;</h5> <h5 style="text-align: center;">&nbsp;</h5> <h5 style="text-align: center;">We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds.</h5><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">Pay Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$18</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$20 USD</span></div></div></div>
