About the Role

Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) – Early Engagement  Location: Seattle, WA  Reports to: Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) Supervisor  Rate of pay: $31.00 Position Summary:   Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) are individuals with lived experience in behavioral health recovery who are certified by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) to provide peer support services. CPSSs use their lived experience to support others in finding their own path to wellness and recovery. They provide non-clinical, person-centered support in alignment with DOH guidelines, emphasizing mutuality, empowerment, and recovery-oriented systems of care.  Duties & Responsibilities (per DOH guidance): <ul> <li>Build recovery-oriented relationships using mutual respect, trust, and lived experience</li> <li>Support members in articulating personal goals for recovery and wellness</li> <li>Provide trauma-informed, culturally relevant, and non-judgmental peer support  </li> <li>Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery groups, education sessions, or engagement activities  </li> <li>Offer harm-reduction resources, information, and linkage to services  </li> <li>Document services provided in a timely, accurate, and ethical manner </li> <li>Maintain peer role boundaries and uphold the DOH Code of Ethics for Certified Peer Counselors  </li> <li>Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and represent the voice of lived experience  </li> <li>Advocate for the member internally and externally </li> </ul> CPSS – Early Engagement <ul> <li>Provide person-centered care to newly enrolled members, typically within the first 30 days</li> <li>Connect members with all necessary initial appointments to include dose evaluations, ASAMs, Orientations, Groups, and other opportunities for early engagement, to ensure program retention</li> <li>Provides transportation support through individualized support through individualized door to door services as appropriate</li> <li>Transport members upon provider request when available.  </li> <li>Will not hold a regular caseload, but a revolving caseload after some level of stability is achieved. </li> </ul> Minimum Qualifications:  Required: <ul> <li>WA State Certified Peer Support Specialist Credential, Pending by the time of hire(required) </li> <li>At least 1 year experience as a certified peer specialist </li> <li data-leveltext="o" data-font="Courier New" data-listid="1" boundaries </li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications:  <ul> <li>Experience working in clinic, outreach, housing, or group settings</li> <li>WA state Peer Crisis training preferred </li> </ul> Equal
