Counsel, Corporate & Finance at Major League Baseball

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Major League Baseball (MLB) is seeking an experienced Counsel with a focus in corporate governance, mergers &amp; acquisitions, investment funds and corporate finance.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Provides contract negotiation and drafting functions and general corporate legal advice</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Reviews, processes, and evaluates agreements and other documentation pertaining to Major League Club and Minor League Club sales, leases, loans, sports betting agreements, and concession arrangements to ensure compliance with Baseball policies and rules</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assists with general corporate governance matters with respect to Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Counsels MLB personnel and Clubs regarding the interpretation and applicability of baseball rules and policies and applicable law</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Performs related duties as required</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Qualifications &amp; Skills</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Bachelors and J.D. degrees</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Excellent academic record</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Member of the Bar of the State of New York</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">2-4 years of experience in corporate law with strong preference for the following disciplines: investment funds, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong drafting, negotiation, creative thinking, leadership, and judgment skills</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Excellent verbal and written communication skills</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Baseball industry experience is not required but baseball knowledge is a plus</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Salary Range:</strong><span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span>$180,000 - $200,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
