Philadelphia Magazine recently named Freire Charter High School (#18) and TECH Freire Charter High School (#26)&nbsp; among the top high schools in Philadelphia. You will also foster a safe, affirming environment where students feel confident taking risks and practicing Spanish authentically.</p> <h3><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Foster a classroom environment grounded in critical thinking, academic rigor, mutual respect, and high expectations for all students.</li> <li>Implement high-quality, content-specific curriculum and design instructional materials that promote deep thinking and problem-solving.</li> <li>Maintain consistent, proactive communication with families regarding student progress and relevant school updates.</li> <li>Engage fully in professional development and collaborate closely with colleagues to best support student learning and growth.</li> <li>Teachers hired at Freire Charter High School (20th &amp; Chestnut St.) have the opportunity to be CREW Leaders and will co-lead a class focusing on SEL and community building twice a week.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Who you are</strong></h2> <p>You believe all students can succeed and bring our values of equity, love, critical thinking, and diversity to life through your actions and relationships. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply.&nbsp;</p> <h3><strong>Minimum requirements</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree required</li> <li>Valid state teaching certification, or a clear ability and commitment to obtain certification</li> <li>Strong content-area knowledge and instructional skill</li> <li>Positive, solution-oriented mindset with a work ethic and collaborative spirit</li> <li>Minimum of two years of successful experience working with diverse student populations</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Pay and benefits</strong></h2> <p>Salaries for <strong>certified</strong> teachers entering their first year start at $60,000, with an overall salary range of $50,000–$85,000 based on experience and qualifications.
