SUMMARY: The Security Service Technician will service & configure Access Control Systems, Analog & IP CCTV Systems, DVR’s & NVR’s, Burglar Alarms, Intercom systems and Telephone Entry Systems, and associated diagnose and repair of equipment and configurations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. <ul> <li class="p1">Interface with customer personnel developing relationships and demonstrating systems; providing training as needed.</li> <li class="p1">Use technical manuals and interface with manufacturer’s technical support to troubleshoot problems</li> <li class="p1">Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation. </li> <li class="p1">Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions. </li> <li class="p1">Service, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, and related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans. </li> <li class="p1">Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires and strapping. </li> <li class="p1">Inspect sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements for service procedures. </li> <li class="p1">Adjust sensitivity of units based on room structures and manufacturers' recommendations, using programming keypads. </li> <li class="p1">Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications. </li> <li class="p1">Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors. </li> <li class="p1">Demonstrate systems for customers, and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.</li> <li class="p1">Other duties as assigned</li> <li class="p1">Ability to work overtime/weekends as needed</li> </ul> TEAMWORK: <ul> <li class="p1">Demonstrate and promote a spirit of cooperation and teamwork throughout the Company</li> <li class="p1">Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively</li> <li class="p1">Improve personal performance on a continual basis</li> </ul> CUSTOMER SERVICE: <ul> <li class="p1">Provide responsive, professional and diplomatic customer service</li> <li class="p1">Answer customer calls and correspondence quickly and pleasantly</li> <li class="p1">Communicate with customers in a friendly, professional, and patient manner</li> <li class="p1">Perform all duties with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships</li> <li class="p1">Immediately address any customer’s concern and requests the involvement of other Company personnel as required</li> </ul> SAFETY: <ul> <li class="p1">Follow all company safety programs and report any non-compliance to your Supervisor</li> <li class="p1">Notify Supervisor or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions</li> </ul> QUALIFICATIONS:   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  High school degree or equivalency is required; Electronic Trade School is preferred; 5 years of maintenance/ installation & Service experience is required. Familiarity in the following:  <ul> <li class="p1">CCTV: Exacq , Milestone, Video Insight, Avigilon, etc.</li> <li class="p1">Access Control: Open Options, Software House, Amag, etc. </li> </ul> COMPUTER SKILLS:   Microsoft Office CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:   <ul> <li class="p1">Driver’s License, </li> <li class="p1">proof of insurance</li> </ul> LANGUAGE SKILLS:   <ul> <li class="p1">Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  </li> <li class="p1">Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  </li> <li class="p1">Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.</li> </ul> MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  <ul> <li class="p1">Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  </li> <li class="p1">Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.</li> </ul> REASONING ABILITY:   <ul> <li class="p1">Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  </li> <li class="p1">Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations</li> </ul> PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
