This role is primarily field-based, with regular visits to job sites and customer locations to assess safety conditions, identify hazards, and help teams develop practical, compliant, and effective solutions to work-related safety challenges before, during, and after work is performed.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">When not in the field, the Field Safety Advisor will work from a company office. The position requires the ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with associates, project teams, customers, and the EHS team. A company-provided work truck serves as the primary mobile office while in the field. Building trust, credibility, and strong working relationships—while consistently maintaining and enforcing safety standards—is essential to success in this role.</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES </strong>Other duties may be assigned.</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Lead safety programs and initiatives by positively influencing associates’ actions and behaviors toward safer work practices</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Support the development, implementation, training, periodic updating, and auditing of a comprehensive Safety program across all business locations to promote a safety-focused culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and secure a safe work environment for all associates</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate closely with the EHS team to ensure consistency in safety standards, messaging, and field execution</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Assist with larger or higher-risk projects by providing safety planning, coordination, and field oversight</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Support customer safety prequalification processes, including documentation review and responses to safety-related requirements</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Assist with corporate safety initiatives and company-wide safety campaigns as requested by the EHS team</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>FIELD ASSESSMENT &amp; RISK MANAGEMENT</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Conduct safety audits, inspections, plan reviews, and field observations to identify unsafe conditions, program gaps, and opportunities to apply best practices</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Visit job sites as needed prior to work being awarded to assess safety concerns, access conditions, and anticipated hazards</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Provide ongoing field support after work is awarded and during active service and project execution</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Follow through on corrective actions to ensure timely completion and effectiveness</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Assess and support work involving fall protection, electrical hazards, rigging and lifting, confined space entry, and other high-risk activities</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>COACHING, AUTHORITY &amp; FIELD PRESENCE</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Coach and mentor associates at all levels on safe work practices, hazard identification, and risk management</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Actively engage with associates to build positive working relationships while consistently upholding safety standards</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Correct unsafe behaviors and conditions in real time, including stopping work when necessary to address dangerous situations</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Clearly explain safety expectations and corrective actions, particularly when serious hazards exist</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>INCIDENT RESPONSE, LEARNING &amp; CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Serve as a point of contact for associates to raise safety concerns, questions, or emerging field issues</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Be available, as needed, outside of normal business hours to respond to safety incidents, urgent concerns, or high-risk conditions</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Provide on-call support for incident response, investigation initiation, and immediate risk mitigation</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Accompany associates to medical facilities following work-related injuries when required to support proper care, documentation, and incident management</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Conduct incident and near-miss investigations with a focus on understanding root causes and identifying effective corrective and preventive actions</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Lead when appropriate and participate in post-incident learning events, reviews, and safety stand-downs to reinforce lessons learned, share findings with the EHS team and associates, and prevent recurrence</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Track trends and recurring hazards to support continuous improvement initiatives</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Provide hands-on support for inspections, investigations, incident and claims management, and overall safety program administration consistent with business goals</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>TRAINING, DOCUMENTATION &amp; ACCOUNTABILITY</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Deliver a wide variety of safety training for associates, including service and project teams</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Provide driver safety and driving behavior training when requested</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, observations, corrective actions, and daily activities</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Track and document daily field activities using electronic safety systems and mobile tools</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Supply training completion to the EHS Coordinator to support accurate and up-to-date safety training records across all locations</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>COLLABORATION &amp; TEAM ENGAGEMENT:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Work cooperatively with associates, supervisors, project managers, operations personnel, customers, and the EHS team to plan and execute safety-related actions</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Serve as a trusted safety advisor who balances operational needs with effective risk management</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Regular travel within the Raleigh/Wilmington region</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Periodic travel to Greensboro (typically a few times per month)</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Occasional travel to South Carolina and Georgia to support boiler operations</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to work flexible hours based on service, project, and incident response needs</span></li> </ul> <h1><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>SAFETY:</strong></span></h1> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Follow all company safety programs and report any non-compliance to Parts Administrative Supervisor</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Notify Parts Administrative Supervisor or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions</span></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong>&nbsp;
