<div class="content-intro">   </div>Automation & Controls Engineer  Essential Duties and Responsibilities   To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Design, implement, and optimize automation solutions, including advanced conveyor and pick-and-place systems and precision material handling.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Support the engineering of automation and controls on new and existing equipment.  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Integrate a wide range of controls components such as PLCs and/or SCADA systems, motion controllers, machine vision systems, heater controllers, web edge guiding and steering mechanisms, pneumatic actuators, encoders, force sensors, thermocouples, analog devices, and various location, distance, and material presence sensors.  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Support electrical control box engineering, standards compliance, assembly, modification, and documentation upkeep.  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop, deploy, and maintain revision control of electrical and software changes on large tool sets where the hardware and software must be copied exactly.  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop and execute test plans to verify machine functionality and reliability.  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Provide timely and accurate project status, documentation, and training.  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Troubleshoot down equipment, including finding the root cause of failures and engineering solutions to correct them.  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Work closely with equipment vendors throughout all phases of a project’s development on controls and software requirements and related issues.  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Support factory expansion efforts, including vendor acceptance testing, equipment commissioning and process qualification.  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Live the company culture of integrity, teamwork, self-discipline and professional competence </li> </ul> Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):   The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Experience/Education:  <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;" data-leveltext="" data-font="Symbol" data-listid="5" data-list-defn-props="{"335552541":1,"335559684":-2,"335559685":720,"335559991":360,"469769226":"Symbol","469769242":[8226],"469777803":"left","469777804":"","469777815":"multilevel"}" data-aria-posinset="1" data-aria-level="1">BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar educational background; </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;" data-leveltext="" data-font="Symbol" data-listid="5" data-list-defn-props="{"335552541":1,"335559684":-2,"335559685":720,"335559991":360,"469769226":"Symbol","469769242":[8226],"469777803":"left","469777804":"","469777815":"multilevel"}" data-aria-posinset="2" data-aria-level="1">3+ years of hands-on experience in Automation & Controls Engineering or similar field </li> </ul> Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Advanced control system engineering and programming of complex process tools and automation primarily using Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, and Omron PLC’s, Windows and Linux PC’s, C#, Python and SQL. </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Expert level troubleshooting of all facets of automated systems. </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Knowledge of manufacturing executions systems including direct experience integrating equipment data streams into factory information databases. </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Advanced knowledge of process control and implementation of real time data acquisition. </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to influence others and collaboratively gain consensus using supportive data. </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability and willingness to work hands-on. </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to travel 10%. </li> </ul> Physical Demands and Work Environment  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
