<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Position Overview</strong></p><p class="MsoNormal">The Director of Orthopedic Services for Luminis Health is responsible for operationalizing the system-wide strategy to create a unified, high-performing orthopedic service line across the Luminis Health Clinical Enterprise (LHCE). This role will leverage matrixed relationships to deliver high-value, patient-centered, and fiscally responsible care across all markets served.</p><p class="MsoNormal">The Director will oversee operations across multiple sites of care with accountability for performance across defined geographies, serving to position orthopedics as a regional destination program.</p><p class="MsoNormal">This role carries organizational accountability for leading operational improvements, executing strategic initiatives, and overseeing a defined functional scope within the orthopedic service line. The Director serves as a manager of managers, leading multidisciplinary teams and contributing to both operational execution and enterprise strategic planning.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Key competencies for this position include:</p><ol style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">The ability to build and sustain high-functioning, collaborative teams across ambulatory, inpatient, and surgical settings</li><li class="MsoNormal">The use of business and market intelligence to drive growth in orthopedic services through improved patient access, procedural volume, and operational efficiency</li><li class="MsoNormal">The implementation of standardized workflows and performance improvement methodologies to optimize care delivery and outcomes</li><li class="MsoNormal">Demonstrated ability to align physicians and advanced practice providers with a dyad leadership model to drive clinical and operational performance</li><li class="MsoNormal">Strong financial acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable operational and strategic decisions</li></ol><p class="MsoNormal">The Director is a key member of the Orthopedic Service Line and LHCE leadership teams and plays a critical role in advancing the strategic objectives of the orthopedic service line. Success in this role will be measured by improvements in access, surgical case growth (including ASC utilization), patient experience metrics, quality outcomes, and achievement of financial performance targets.</p><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center"><hr></div><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Reporting Structure & Key Relationships</strong></p><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Reporting Structure:</strong></p><ul style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Reports directly to the Vice President of Orthopedic Services</li><li class="MsoNormal">Functions as a manager of managers, overseeing leaders and teams totaling approximately 15–25 employees (direct and indirect reports)</li><li class="MsoNormal">Provides oversight and mentorship to emerging leaders, with accountability for leadership develo9pment and succession planning</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Key relationships include:</strong></p><ul style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Executive Medical Director, Orthopedic Service Line</li><li class="MsoNormal">Medical Directors (Upper Extremity, Spine, Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement)</li><li class="MsoNormal">Ambulatory and Acute Care Operational Leaders</li><li class="MsoNormal">ASC Leadership Teams</li><li class="MsoNormal">Shared Services Departments (Finance, HR, IT, Revenue Cycle, Risk Management, Training)</li><li class="MsoNormal">Payer partners and population health leadership related to value-based care initiatives</li><li class="MsoNormal">External partners and vendors supporting orthopedic programs, implants, and capital equipment</li></ul><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center"><hr></div><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Essential Job Duties</strong></p><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>1. Operational Execution & Organizational Accountability</strong></p><ul style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Lead execution of key components of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) across the orthopedic service line</li><li class="MsoNormal">Drive performance improvement initiatives and direct implementation of system-wide programs</li><li class="MsoNormal">Maintain accountability for operational performance within the assigned functional scope</li><li class="MsoNormal">Establish and monitor key performance indicators, and dashboards to ensure transparency and accountability across teams</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>2. Service Line Growth & Strategic Function</strong></p><ul style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Develop and implement operational plans aligned with LHCE strategic priorities</li><li class="MsoNormal">Contribute to broader orthopedic service line and enterprise strategic planning</li><li class="MsoNormal">Identify and execute growth opportunities, including ambulatory expansion, ASC utilization, and market share growth</li><li class="MsoNormal">Conduct market assessments and competitive analyses to inform growth strategy and physician recruitment priorities</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>3. Access & Throughput Optimization</strong></p><ul style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Standardize scheduling processes and improve patient access across clinic, imaging, and surgical services</li><li class="MsoNormal">Implement open access and rapid scheduling models to enhance throughput and patient experience</li><li class="MsoNormal">Reduce patient wait times and improve referral conversion rates through optimized intake, triage, and care navigation processes</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>4. Financial Performance & Accountability</strong></p><ul style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Partner with finance to manage and monitor a budget typically ranging from $1M–$10M</li><li class="MsoNormal">Identify financial variances and implement corrective action plans</li><li class="MsoNormal">Drive improvements in margin, cost efficiency, and case mix index</li><li class="MsoNormal">Oversee capital planning, including business cases for new technology, equipment, and facility investments</li><li class="MsoNormal">Optimize implant and supply chain costs through standardization and vendor management strategies</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>5. Quality & Outcomes</strong></p><ul style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Collaborate with clinical leadership to establish and manage a comprehensive orthopedic quality scorecard</li><li class="MsoNormal">Improve patient outcomes, safety, and patient-reported outcomes</li><li class="MsoNormal">Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and evidence-based clinical standards</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>6. Physician Alignment & Engagement</strong></p><ul style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of orthopedic surgeons and APPs</li><li class="MsoNormal">Foster physician alignment with system goals and performance expectations</li><li class="MsoNormal">Partner in a dyad leadership model with physician leaders to drive accountability for quality, growth, and financial performance</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>7. Program Development</strong></p><ul style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Oversee development and implementation of orthopedic subspecialty programs (joint replacement, spine, sports medicine, trauma)</li><li class="MsoNormal">Ensure consistency and standardization across the enterprise</li><li class="MsoNormal">Evaluate and scale centers of excellence and bundled care programs</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>8. ASC & Ambulatory Strategy</strong></p><ul style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">Lead migration of appropriate cases to ASCs</li><li class="MsoNormal">Optimize site-of-service decisions to improve cost, access, and patient experience</li><li class="MsoNormal">Drive case selection protocols and physician alignment to support safe and efficient outpatient migration</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>9. Operational Initiatives Oversight</strong></p><p class="MsoNormal">Provide leadership for key initiatives, including:</p><ul style="margin-top: 0in"><li class="MsoNormal">EMR optimization</li><li class="MsoNormal">Orthopedic value-based care programs</li><li class="MsoNormal">Revenue cycle optimization</li><li class="MsoNormal">Patient experience improvement</li><li class="MsoNormal">Workforce engagement</li><li class="MsoNormal">Digital innovation, including use of analytics, predictive modeling, and patient engagement tools</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>10.
