In this role, you will own back-end architecture for multi-tenant SaaS products from first pilot through production scale, make and defend the language and framework calls for each new product, and design the APIs and tool surfaces that let AI agents work with our data. This is a hands-on role: you will write code, ship pilots, and set the technical bar for the engineers around you.</p> <p><strong>How you’ll make an impact:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Architect multi-tenant SaaS and distributed back-end systems that scale with customer and data growth</li> <li>Design PostgreSQL schemas, query patterns, and tenancy isolation models built for performance and security</li> <li>Build well-structured APIs and expose product capabilities as tool surfaces for AI agents using MCP or similar protocols</li> <li>Make and defend language and framework decisions for new pod products, balancing speed to pilot with long-term maintainability</li> <li>Take new product ideas from concept to pilot to product, and make the call to stop work that isn’t earning its place</li> <li>Raise the engineering bar through design reviews, mentoring, and hiring</li> </ul> <p><strong>What we’re looking for:</strong></p> <ul> <li>8+ years of back-end software engineering experience.</li> <li>Deep experience architecting multi-tenant SaaS and distributed systems at scale.</li> <li>Expert PostgreSQL knowledge, including schema design, performance tuning, and tenancy isolation.</li> <li>Strong API design skills, with hands-on experience or clear depth building tool surfaces for agents (MCP or similar).</li> <li>Expert in Java and proficient in Python or TypeScript, with a record of making and defending language and framework choices.</li> <li>A track record of turning an idea into a pilot and then a product, and the judgment to know when to kill one.</li> <li>Architected a system that is still running in production at scale.</li> <li><strong>AI-Native Product Engineering:</strong> Proven ability to use AI coding tools and agents to rapidly build, evaluate, and ship end-to-end products.
