Specific eligibility and coverage details will be provided during the hiring process**</em></p></div><p><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p> <p>VFS Fire &amp; Security Services is seeking a skilled <strong>Fire Alarm &amp; Sprinkler Inspector – Level II </strong>to perform inspections, basic service, and routine troubleshooting of fire alarm and sprinkler systems. This role supports compliance with NFPA codes, state and local regulations, and internal standards. The Level II Inspector works under the guidance of senior inspectors and supervisors and may assist in training junior team members.</p> <p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and all applicable local, state, and federal codes</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Troubleshoot system issues and complete minor repairs on fire alarm and sprinkler equipment</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Assist with system programming and commissioning under the direction of senior technicians</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Prepare clear, accurate documentation of inspection results, identified deficiencies, and corrective actions taken</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Communicate findings, system status, and recommended repairs to customers in a professional, courteous manner</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Support senior inspectors and project teams on complex installations, retrofits, and service calls</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Maintain assigned tools, test equipment, and parts inventory in company vehicle in clean, organized, and working condition</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Safely perform work at elevated heights, on ladders and aerial lifts, and within confined spaces in compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA standards</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Adhere to all company safety policies and jobsite requirements while representing the company professionally at customer locations</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">High school diploma or GED equivalent</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">3-4 years of hands-on experience inspecting, testing, or servicing fire alarm and/or fire sprinkler systems</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and NFPA 25 inspection procedures and standard troubleshooting practices</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, riser diagrams, and equipment specifications</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Proficient with mobile devices, inspection software, and standard computer applications (Microsoft Office, web-based reporting tools, mobile apps)</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, building managers, and team members</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a field service environment</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver’s license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights, on lifts, and in confined spaces</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">NICET Level I or II certification in Fire Alarm Systems or Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Experience with additional low-voltage systems (security, access control, CCTV, or nurse call)</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">Bilingual English/Spanish</li> <li class="whitespace-normal break-words pl-2">OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p></p> <p><em>This pay range reflects the compensation rate Fortis Fire &amp; Safety reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting.
