This role involves managing a team of engineers and overseeing end-to-end technical design and engineering processes and supporting construction management</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong> ⚙️</p> <p><u>Management</u></p> <ul> <li>Conduct performance assessments to provide feedback, promote individual growth and ensure alignment with organization goals</li> <li>Collaborate with the Vice President, EPC to strategically manage resource allocation</li> <li>Oversee daily team workflows by facilitating capacity building and deliver targeted training initiatives to drive team efficiency</li> </ul> <p><u>Technical Evaluation</u></p> <ul> <li>Analyze site parameters, interconnection studies and customer loads to determine optimal system sizing and configuration</li> <li>Conduct shading analysis, structural assessments and electrical reviews to inform equipment selection and layout</li> <li>Model proposed designs in PVsyst or similar tools to predict energy products and economic performance</li> <li>Select appropriate technologies for projects, including modules, inverters, racking and system balance</li> </ul> <p><u>Design Execution&nbsp;</u></p> <ul> <li>Lead the engineering team in creating permit/construction drawing sets that meet codes and client standards</li> <li>Direct internal and external resources to produce comprehensive construction documentation packages</li> <li>Manage relationships with third-party engineering firms to ensure quality deliverables</li> <li>Specify electrical protection, monitoring, and control schemes to meet utility and grid stability requirements.</li> <li>Develop equipment specifications, bills of materials, and detailed scopes of work for procurement and construction</li> <li>Coordinate technical reviews and secure permit approvals from relevant authorities</li> <li>Review detailed civil, structural, and electrical engineering design packages for compliance with technical specifications</li> <li>Stay updated on advancements in PV modules, inverters, racking, and energy storage technologies</li> </ul> <p><u>Construction Support</u> (in coordination with Construction Project Management team)</p> <ul> <li>Provide technical supervision to contractors during system installations to ensure adherence to plans</li> <li>Collaborate with EPC contractors through procurement, construction, and commissioning phases</li> <li>Review shop drawings, inspect deliveries, and witness factory testing as needed.</li> <li>Oversee punch list inspections, testing, and commissioning of systems before final approval</li> <li>Compile as-built drawings, operations manuals, warranty documentation, and other project closeout materials</li> <li>Respond to contractor RFIs, participate in construction meetings, and review QA/QC documentation</li> <li>Conduct site visits to evaluate constructability and support construction progress</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong> 🎓</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil)</li> <li>5 - 8+ years of experience in engineering in the renewables industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership/management role</li> <li>Expertise in solar plant equipment, including PV modules, racking systems, inverters and electrical balance of plants</li> <li>Expertise in NEC codes a plus</li> <li>NABCEP, PV Installation Professional Certification a plus</li> <li>Experience reviewing civil, structural, or electrical engineering design packages</li> <li>Proficiency with PVSyst, System Advisory Model (SAM) programs, AutoCAD, PVcase, ArcGIS, Helioscope, and Aurora Solar is a plus</li> <li>Experience managing third-party due diligence studies and energy production estimates</li> <li>Ability to multi-task and manage deliverables for multiple projects at a time</li> <li>Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Travel required up to 20%</li> <li>Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future</li> </ul> <p><em>The annual base salary for this position is $140,000 – $180,000.
