About the Role

<p><strong>Preference will be given to candidates residing within a commuting distance of Avetta’s Calgary, AB office located at 255 5th Ave SW, Suite 1400, Calgary, AB T2P 3G6, where a hybrid schedule will be required (3 days in office, 2 days working from home). Your mission is to empower these teams to deliver exceptional solutions by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. You will act as a key facilitator, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment while managing inter-team dependencies. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving program-level objectives and working closely with multiple teams to ensure their success. Additionally, you will leverage emerging AI-assisted Agile tooling and advanced Jira expertise to streamline team workflows, reporting, and backlog management.</p> <p><u>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders (Product Managers, RTEs, Product Owners) to ensure strategic initiatives are aligned and delivered on time, focusing on program-level goals.</li> <li>Facilitate Agile ceremonies for multiple teams and lead team breakout sessions during PI Planning to coordinate dependencies, capacity, and risks.</li> <li>Mentor less experienced Scrum Masters, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across multiple teams.</li> <li>Coordinate and manage dependencies between teams, ensuring smooth delivery of large program initiatives and alignment during Scrum of Scrums.</li> <li>Support the Product Owner by: <ul> <li>Assisting with managing product roadmaps and team backlogs across multiple teams.</li> <li>Coaching teams on backlog management, vertical slicing of stories, and estimating practices.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Build high-performing, self-organizing teams by creating an environment that enhances collaboration, team dynamics, and cohesion across product verticals.</li> <li>Actively resolve cross-team impediments and blockers that could affect program-level progress.</li> <li>Leverage Agile metrics to track the performance of multiple teams and provide visibility into program progress and health.</li> <li>Ensure smooth alignment of multiple teams during PI Planning, using tools and metrics to drive data driven decision-making.</li> <li>Promote the adoption of Agile engineering best practices (TDD, BDD, Pair Programming, CI/CD) across multiple teams to maintain consistency in quality.</li> <li>Utilize AI-enabled Agile and productivity tools (e.g., backlog automation, sentiment analysis, or predictive metrics) to enhance team performance, forecasting, and reporting.</li> <li>Provide hands-on Jira expertise, including workflow customization, dashboard/report creation, and integration with other tools (Confluence, Aha!, GitHub), supporting both team and program-level needs.</li> </ul> <p><u>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</u></p> <ul> <li>Experience in Project Management and Agile methodologies, with proven success in scaling Agile across multiple teams, typically obtained through 6 years of experience.</li> <li>Deep expertise in Jira administration and reporting, with the ability to coach teams and troubleshoot tool-related challenges.</li> <li>Experience with AI-driven Agile or productivity tools preferred (e.g., AI-assisted backlog grooming, reporting, or team health insights).</li> <li>Proficiency in Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, and Aha! (or similar portfolio/product management tools).</li> <li>Demonstrated success in leading multi-team Agile initiatives, managing complex dependencies, and driving program-level outcomes.</li> <li>Experience mentoring and coaching other Scrum Masters.</li> <li>Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to foster collaboration across teams and product lines.</li> <li>Experience managing complex SaaS product development and delivering solutions across multiple business units.</li> <li><strong>Ability to travel to the United States as needed, without visa or travel restrictions, is preferred</strong>.</li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">IDEAL EDUCATION &amp; TRAINING:</span></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area.</li> <li>Scrum.org PSM II or SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) certification preferred.</li> <li>Experience adapting Agile/Scrum practices for AI-enabled product development environments preferred.</li> </ul> <p>Avetta is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
