<div>The Sr. Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving Body in White (BIW) automated manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production operations. This role supports equipment uptime through preventive and corrective maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires strong expertise in automotive OEM equipment, PLCs, electrical systems, pneumatics, robotics, and BIW automation.</div>

<div><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></div>

<p>• Lead advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of automated manufacturing systems, including robots, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and Body in White (BIW) process equipment <br>• Serve as the technical escalation point for complex automation, controls, robotics, and system integration issues <br>• Perform hands on diagnostics, maintenance, and technical support for PLC based control systems <br>• Troubleshoot PLC hardware and PLC software, including fault analysis and system recovery <br>• Perform PLC programming, logic modifications, backups, and online monitoring <br>• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain VFDs and motor control systems <br>• Understand and troubleshoot industrial network architecture, including diagnostics, addressing, and network topology <br>• Diagnose and resolve communication faults between PLCs, robots, weld controllers, drives, HMIs, safety devices, and field I/O <br>• Perform PLC to Robot communication, including signal handshaking, fault feedback, and cycle control <br>• Implement and support PLC and Robot interfaces, including I/O mapping, safety interlocks, sequencing, and production status signals <br>• Perform PLC to weld controller integration, including weld enable signals, fault feedback, process feedback, and alarms <br>• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot robots and integrated robotic cells across Body in White, Paint, and Assembly areas <br>• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of pneumatic systems, including cylinder and valve operation, applications, and rebuilding <br>• Establish, schedule, execute, and document preventive maintenance (PM) activities <br>• Work closely with maintenance planners to effectively utilize and improve the CMMS system <br>• Ensure effective spare parts inventory management and lead time control for automation equipment <br>• Lead commissioning, startup, and integration of new or modified automation systems into existing PLC, robot, and weld control architectures </p>
<p>• Direct and coordinate contractors and vendors in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner <br>• Train and coach team members in automation systems, PLC troubleshooting, robotics interfaces, and best maintenance practices <br>• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability, uptime, and production efficiency <br>• Enforce and model strict compliance with safety rules and regulations, including LOTO and electrical safety standards <br>• Communicate professionally and effectively with production, engineering, quality, and management teams </p>

<div>• Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms, including Studio 5000 PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, with hands on experience in PLC programming support, software diagnostics, and advanced troubleshooting <br>• Strong understanding of control system architecture and electrical layouts, including control panels, wiring diagrams, and field device integration <br>• Hands on experience with PLC interfacing to FANUC robots, including fault diagnostics, interface signal management, and production support <br>• Solid working knowledge of industrial communication networks, including: <br>Ethernet/IP,PROFIBUS etc.<br>• Network diagnostics, addressing, and communication fault resolution<br>• Working knowledge of weld controllers (spot and arc welding systems), including: Interface protocols & PLC communication and signal exchange<br>• Integration within Body in White (BIW) robotic welding cells<br>• Broad understanding of manufacturing equipment maintenance systems, covering both electrical and mechanical disciplines <br>• Strong foundation in electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and automation theory, supporting effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis <br>• Professional, clear, and responsive communication with production, engineering, quality, and internal customers <br>• Proficient in CMMS systems, and equipment monitoring and control systems</div>

<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>
</div>
<div>• Associate degree related with automotive industry field.<br>• 3+ years of experience in BIW, maintenance department, or related role<br>• Experience in maintenance management systems, executions of maintenance plans and throughput analysis.<br>• Good communication and teamwork abilities<br>• Familiarity with BIW processes and components is a plus<br>• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)<br>• Note there is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and must be able to wear fall hazard PPE and enter confined spaces with the appropriate training. </div>
