<p>As a Component Engineer at Astranis, you will play a critical role in ensuring the selection of high-quality, reliable, and sourceable EEE parts and components used in our satellite systems. This role requires an in-depth understanding of part construction, the ability to identify potential quality or reliability risks, and the expertise to define and implement screening tests to expose and address these risks effectively.<br><br><strong>Role</strong><strong><br></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Dive into part construction to identify quality and reliability risks, ensuring components meet mission-critical standards.</li>
<li>Collaborate with design engineers to guide component selection during the design process, ensuring reliability and compliance with Astranis standards.</li>
<li>Plan, execute, and oversee component level screening and qualification testing</li>
<li>Review bills of materials for new designs to ensure designs are using approved flight parts</li>
<li>Manage component supplier part change notifications and drive appropriate responses to supplier PCNs</li>
<li>Execute tear-downs on critical components to assess the part quality and reliability</li>
<li>Interface with supply chain, design, and manufacturing teams to address component-related sourcing challenges</li>
<li>Manage the Astranis approved parts list in PLM to ensure accurate information provided to the engineering and manufacturing teams</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.</li>
<li>Experience in electrical design, including components, circuits, PCBs, or electronic assemblies.</li>
<li>5+ years experience in part quality, reliability, failure analysis, and/or DPA</li>
<li>Familiarity with JEDEC, AEC-Q and MIL component standards</li>
</ul>

<li>Experience in supply chain, purchasing, or manufacturing processes.</li>
<li>Familiarity with manufacturing processes and testing methodologies for electronic components.</li>
<li>Proficiency in non-destructive and destructive lab analysis techniques.</li>
<li>Experience in reliability statistics and data analysis.</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>

<div>Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources.
