Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will resolve technical ambiguity, lead cross-team delivery efforts, and serve as a technical mentor who raises the engineering bar across teams.</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead design of integrated RF subsystems across multiple frequency bands; drive trade-offs in the solution space</li> <li>Lead trade studies between modulation schemes, coding rates, bandwidth, and power efficiency for space communication systems</li> <li>Define and execute full RF test campaigns, including EMI/EMC validation</li> <li>Champion design robustness; ensure streamlined execution across design and test phases</li> <li>Balance RF performance, cost, and risk trade-offs across mechanical, software, power, and thermal domains</li> <li>Lead cross-team delivery efforts; manage technical dependencies and program milestones</li> <li>Drive requirements capture, analysis (QoS, link budgets, antenna patterns, compatibility), and documentation across comm system designs</li> <li>Oversee integration of RF components—SDRs, antennas, amplifiers, filters, mixers, oscillators—into spacecraft systems</li> <li>Support payload analysis and integration including radar and complex RF systems</li> <li>Mentor peers and junior engineers; shape and raise technical standards across teams</li> <li>Manage ambiguity on projects; set checkpoints and communicate effectively across teams</li> </ul> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)</li> <li>7–10 years of experience in RF system design and development for aerospace applications</li> <li>Demonstrated experience leading RF subsystem design and integration across multiple bands</li> <li>Experience with link optimization, modulation/coding selection, and antenna coverage analysis</li> <li>Experience with LEO, MEO, GEO, or deep space satellite missions</li> <li>Hands-on experience with RF test equipment and leading RF test campaigns</li> <li>Proficiency in RF simulation tools (MATLAB, HFSS, FEKO, CST, or similar)</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to align and influence across teams</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering</li> <li>Experience with software-defined radios (SDRs) in space communication applications</li> <li>EMI/EMC experience at the component and system level</li> <li>Knowledge of space communication protocols (CCSDS or similar)</li> <li>Experience with regulatory filing committees and processes</li> <li>Familiarity with launch vehicles, missile defense applications, and integration environments</li> <li>Experience with encryption algorithms, preferably NSA Type 1</li> <li>Experience in a startup or fast-paced engineering environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>COMPENSATION</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong><span data-contrast="none">Base Salary: </span></strong><span data-contrast="none">$150,000 - $220,000</span></li> <li><strong><span data-contrast="none">Equity + Benefits</span></strong><span data-contrast="none"> including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave</span><span data-ccp-props="{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}">&nbsp;</span></li> </ul> <p><span data-ccp-props="{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}"><em><span class="TextRun SCXW83253800 BCX0" lang="EN-US" data-contrast="none"><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW83253800 BCX0">Your actual level and base salary will be&nbsp;</span><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW83253800 BCX0">determined</span><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW83253800 BCX0"> on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.</span></span></em><span class="EOP SCXW83253800 BCX0" data-ccp-props="{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}">&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Work Location</strong>—Successful candidates will be located near Long Beach, CA.</li> <li><strong>Work environment</strong>—the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.</li> <li><strong>Physical demands</strong>—the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.</li> </ul> <p><span class="TextRun SCXW267002851 BCX0" lang="EN-US" data-contrast="auto"><span class="NormalTextRun SCXW267002851 BCX0">This position will be open until it is successfully filled.
