This engineer will contribute to the full design lifecycle from concept through production, leading mechanical design efforts with a high degree of independence and ownership.</p> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Position Responsibilities</p> <ul style=" margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in;" type="disc"> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Develop and own mechanical designs for UAV components and assemblies using SolidWorks, maintaining all documentation and revision control within EPDM</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Support composite structure design including laminate layup schedules for Kevlar and carbon prepreg materials</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Perform thermal modeling and analysis using the SolidWorks simulation suite to validate component and system-level designs</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Produce detailed drawings, BOMs, and release packages that meet engineering and manufacturing requirements</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are producible and meet program requirements</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Identify and resolve design issues through structured root cause analysis and engineering judgment</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Support hardware builds, testing, and field activities as required</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">6 to 10 years of relevant mechanical design experience in aerospace, defense, or UAV development</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling and EPDM data management</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple design tasks with minimal supervision</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear engineering documentation</span></li> </ul> <p style="margin: 0in; margin-left: .375in; font-family: Calibri; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Direct experience designing Class 2 UAV systems or similar small unmanned platforms is highly desired</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;">Composite layup design experience including Kevlar and carbon fiber prepreg laminates is a plus</span></li> <li style="margin-top: 0;
