<div class="content-intro"><p><strong>Who We Are</strong></p> <p>At Old Second, you're first!&nbsp; &nbsp;For more than 150 years, Old Second has consistently put businesses and individuals throughout the Chicago area first, and we're only getting started.</p> <p>With great employees we've grown from a single location in the back of a general store to 50 locations and over $6 billion dollars in assets.&nbsp; At Old Second we embrace values that foster an environment of community and growth.&nbsp; Recently, we've been voted a Forbes Best-In-State Bank for Illinois by our customers.&nbsp; Be a part of something big as we continue our growth story together!</p></div><p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p> <p>This Senior Commercial Underwriter is responsible for analyzing customer financial information and underwriting commercial loans.&nbsp; This individual is responsible for spreading customer financial data, assigning risk ratings, participating in preparation of exception reports, and complying with company and regulatory lending guidelines.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Senior Commercial Underwriter is responsible for performing at the highest levels of productivity, for independently and efficiently spreading the most complex and involved credits, and for resolving problems independently.</p> <p><strong>Essential Job Functions</strong></p> <ul> <li>Spreads and analyzes customer financial information in collaboration with commercial lenders. Is able to work independently to complete nearly all assignments.</li> <li>Efficiently and accurately analyzes and assigns loan ratings to credits in bank portfolio.</li> <li>Prepares and reviews spreadsheets for monthly exception reports.</li> <li>Serves as department resource regarding bank policies and external regulatory requirements as they pertain to lending.</li> <li>Proactively partners with Commercial Lenders to go on joint customer calls in order to develop credit and sales skills and/or serves in a leadership role to help develop and educate less experienced analysts.</li> <li>Partner with Commercial Lenders to discuss and review complex credits and make financial and covenant recommendations as appropriate.</li> <li>Collaborates with lenders as necessary on preparation of customer loan presentations.</li> <li>Contributes as requested in on-site inspection of collateral.</li> <li>Participate in special projects if required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p> <p><strong>AVP level:</strong></p> <p>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area of study and three or more years of related experience (commercial banking, finance, credit, etc.); or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p><strong>VP level:</strong></p> <p>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area of study and five or more years of related experience (commercial banking, finance, credit, etc.); or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p><strong>Competencies – All levels:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of balance sheet, leverage, risk ratios</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)</li> <li>General banking (credit/debit) knowledge</li> <li>Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)</li> <li>Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills</li> <li>Time management and ability to work within a fast paced environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred, but not required:&nbsp; </strong></p> <ul> <li>Five years of more of related experience in credit/commercial banking strongly preferred.</li> <li>Completion of formal bank credit training program strongly preferred.</li> <li>Experience working within a change management environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Location Details</strong></p> <p>This position is considered a hybrid role.&nbsp; With management approval, an incumbent may work a combination of remote and onsite work to perform the regular responsibilities of the role.&nbsp; Onsite work may occur at the Chicago (Wacker), Downers Grove (Highland Ave) or Aurora (Main) location.&nbsp; Actual schedule requirements may vary based upon business needs.</p> <hr> <p><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits</strong></p> <p><strong>Base pay:</strong>&nbsp;</p> <p style="padding-left: 40px;"><strong>AVP Level:</strong>&nbsp; $78,000 - $110,000&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p style="padding-left: 40px;"><strong>VP Level:&nbsp; </strong>$96,000 - $130,000</p> <p><strong>Officer Bonus Eligible at VP Level:</strong>&nbsp; Eligible to participate in the Annual Officer Incentive plan with a target bonus up to 15% of base salary based various performance components.</p> <p>Old Second is committed to fair and equitable pay practices.&nbsp; Pay is dependent upon the pay range and the incumbent’s knowledge, skills and experience.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Benefits:&nbsp; </strong><a href="https://www.oldsecond.com/resources-services/how-we-support-you/">How We Support You - Old Second</a></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Thanks for considering Old Second!&nbsp;&nbsp;</p></div>
