<div class="content-intro"><p><strong>Who We Are</strong></p> <p>At Old Second, you're first!&nbsp; &nbsp;For more than 150 years, Old Second has consistently put businesses and individuals throughout the Chicago area first, and we're only getting started.</p> <p>With great employees we've grown from a single location in the back of a general store to 50 locations and over $6 billion dollars in assets.&nbsp; At Old Second we embrace values that foster an environment of community and growth.&nbsp; Recently, we've been voted a Forbes Best-In-State Bank for Illinois by our customers.&nbsp; Be a part of something big as we continue our growth story together!</p></div><p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p> <p>The Commercial Underwriter II is responsible for analyzing customer financial information.&nbsp; This individual is responsible for spreading customer financial data, assigning risk ratings, participating in preparation of exception reports, and complying with company and regulatory lending guidelines.&nbsp;&nbsp; In addition, this role may assist loan officers with renewals and other portfolio management functions.</p> <p>The Commercial Underwriter II is responsible for an increased level of performance.&nbsp; This role performs at high levels of productivity, reviews a blend of small to increasing larger credits, independently and efficiently underwrites complex credits, and resolves problems independently.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Essential Job Functions</strong></p> <ul> <li>Accurately completes and reviews financial spreads and covenant testing.</li> <li>Performs basic underwriting, producing thorough and accurate analytical packages that include all relevant risks, trends and industry information.</li> <li>Collaborates with Relationship Managers, to gather and compile information for annual reviews with senior management.</li> <li>Serves as department resource regarding bank policies and external regulatory requirements as they pertain to lending.</li> <li>Analyzes and assigns loan ratings to credits in bank portfolio.</li> <li>Develops a thorough understanding of bank policies and external regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Prepares and reviews monthly exception reports.</li> <li>Reviews collateral due diligence reports.</li> <li>Proactively partners with Commercial Lenders to go on joint customer calls in order to develop credit and sales skills and/or serves in a leadership role to help develop and educate less experienced analysts.</li> <li>Collaborates with lenders as necessary on preparation of customer loan presentations.</li> <li>Participate in meetings and trainings as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area of study and two or more years of related experience (commercial banking, finance, credit, etc.); or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Competencies</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)</li> <li>Intermediate understanding of balance sheet, leverage, risk ratios</li> <li>General banking (credit/debit) knowledge</li> <li>Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)</li> <li>Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Time management and ability to work within a fast-paced environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred, but not required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Three to five years underwriting experience preferred</li> <li>Experience underwriting large and/or complex commercial credits</li> <li>Specialty lending underwriting.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Location Details </strong></p> <p>This position is considered a hybrid role.&nbsp; With management approval, an incumbent may work a combination of remote and onsite work to perform the regular responsibilities of the role.&nbsp; Actual schedule requirements may vary based upon business needs.</p> <hr> <p><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits</strong></p> <p><strong>Base pay:</strong>&nbsp; $62,000.00 - $83,000</p> <p>Old Second is committed to fair and equitable pay practices.&nbsp; Pay is dependent upon the pay range and the incumbent’s knowledge, skills and experience.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Benefits:&nbsp; </strong><a href="https://www.oldsecond.com/resources-services/how-we-support-you/">How We Support You - Old Second</a></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Thanks for considering Old Second!&nbsp;&nbsp;</p></div>
