ABOUT THE ROLE Are you a visionary architect who thrives as the ultimate technology strategist? We're looking for a Director of Systems Engineering who masters the balance between big-picture strategy and hands-on execution. In this role, you’ll architect our digital universe, scaling critical systems like Netsuite and Boomi and ensuring our infrastructure supports a seamless, secure, and innovative landscape for our entire team.  If you’re a proactive, collaborative problem-solver with a passion for evolving technology into a high-performance engine for growth, you could be the dynamic force we need to take our organization to the next level. RESPONSIBILITIES <ul> <li>Lead by example by consistently living into goodr’s values of Fun and Authenticity  </li> <li>Be a culture carrier by leaning into our three fundamentals of communication, professionalism, and vision </li> <li>Hold monthly one-on-ones with each team member to build upon their role duties and hold everyone accountable </li> <li>Ask clear questions, increase everyone’s knowledge, and empower the team so that we can get the best out of every person in your department </li> <li>Give consistent, continuous feedback and challenge your flock to perpetually grow so they become the best version of themselves </li> <li>Own your team’s budget and ensure its accuracy </li> <li>Use imagination and wisdom to set team goals and communicate them clearly </li> <li>Challenge the status quo ALWAYS. The phrase “this is how we’ve always done it” is banned here at goodr, so don’t be afraid to push out of your comfort zone and encourage your team to do the same </li> </ul> ROLE SPECIFIC <ul> <li>Serve as the ultimate tech whisperer for our leadership squad, guiding big-bet investments and spotting risks before they strike</li> <li>Architect the rulebook for our digital universe, ensuring security and systems flow with absolute precision</li> <li>Develop and refine technology standards that enable consistent, efficient operations across the organization.</li> <li>Oversee the reliable operation of our Systems infrastructure by establishing measures for availability, performance, capacity, patching, vulnerability remediation, backup, and recovery readiness </li> <li>Lead and participate directly in major Systems implementations, upgrades, migrations, recovery activities, and cross-functional technology initiatives</li> <li>Collaborate with executive leadership and department leaders to identify, prioritize, and fulfill current and future technological needs</li> <li>Work cross-functionally with divisional heads to tailor technology roadmaps to their specific business needs</li> <li>Manage and scale our major tools to ensure seamless data orchestration, workflow automation, and robust synchronization across our NetSuite ERP,  Boomi middleware, OMS, and Shopify e-commerce ecosystems</li> <li>Serve as the functional owner of internal business systems, ensuring they support scalability, efficiency, and data integrity</li> <li>Champions internal empowerment by driving training and organizational evolution for fresh technology and architecture</li> <li>Create presentations and translate technical Systems project updates for the leadership team (experience with Figma is a huge plus!)</li> <li>Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and service-oriented environment in which your team of 6 employees are supported, accountable, and encouraged to develop their technical and leadership capabilities. </li> <li>Mastermind the end-to-level journey for all, software, foundational infrastructure, and essential platforms</li> <li>Maintain rock-solid, protected, and expansive tech landscapes that empower our remote and in-office team</li> <li>This role is in the Systems Team and will report directly to the Vice President of Technology</li> <li>Perform other related duties as assigned</li> </ul> ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE  <ul> <li>May or may not have a degree...we don’t care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law)</li> <li>7+ years of experience in Systems, with 4+ years in a leadership or director-level role, ideally in the consumer goods industry</li> <li>Proven experience owning Systems strategy and business systems in a growing organization (150+ employees)</li> <li>Strong technical depth across systems administration, databases, platform engineering, network engineering, and network security, comfortable working alongside the team, not just directing from above.</li> <li>A big-picture visionary who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty in the details</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of NetSuite (or similar ERP) and Boomi (or similar iPaaS) </li> <li>A self-starter who can rely on their skill in prioritizing and organizing their workflow to coordinate multiple departments</li> <li>Strong communicator who lives into collaboration </li> <li>Driven by personal growth and thrives in an environment of constant feedback</li> <li>Is proactive and an independent problem solver!
