We’re building a dedicated Production Engineering function at Senra Systems – a team that owns the floor, not the desk. As a Production Engineer, you will be embedded in manufacturing as the technical resource our assembly technicians rely on during active production. While Manufacturing Engineers own the front-end documentation – BOMs, Engineering Masters, work instructions, and formboards – you own execution.  You’ll troubleshoot builds in real time, support first articles, verify cable and component kits, disposition non-conformances, and serve as the day-to-day engineering presence that keeps production moving. This role reports to the Lead Production Engineer and works closely with the Manufacturing Engineering, Production and Quality teams.  What you'll own: Floor Troubleshooting & Real-Time Support  <ul> <li>Serve as the on-floor technical resource during active production – resolving assembly issues, documentation discrepancies, and build questions without halting throughput </li> <li>Identify and escalate systemic issues to the Lead PE or ME team with clear, structured documentation </li> <li>Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for recurring production issues </li> </ul> NCR Disposition  <ul> <li>Review and disposition non-conformances generated on the floor with documented rationale (use-as-is, rework, or scrap) </li> <li>Maintain NCR aging within SLA; escalate items that require engineering disposition beyond your scope </li> <li>Coordinate with Quality on in-process inspection holds and final disposition sign-off </li> </ul> First Article & First Build Support  <ul> <li>Provide hands-on engineering support during first articles and new part number introductions </li> <li>Walk the floor during first builds, verify documentation accuracy, and identify gaps before they become production issues </li> <li>Capture redlines and documentation feedback and submit to the ME team in a structured, timely manner </li> </ul> Kit Verification & Material Flow  <ul> <li>Audit incoming cable and component kits against the build package before they reach the floor  </li> <li>Flag shortages, substitutions, or discrepancies and coordinate resolution with kitting, supply chain and engineering  </li> </ul> Technician Support & Mentorship  <ul> <li>Answer technical questions from assembly technicians on wire prep, crimping, connector insertion, splicing, and harness routing </li> <li>Coach to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and NASA 8739.4 workmanship standards; recognize and address non-conforming work at the source </li> <li>Contribute to a culture of quality ownership on the floor – every technician should know what good looks like </li> </ul> What you'll bring to the team: Required:  <ul> <li>1–3 years of hands-on experience in wire harness or cable assembly manufacturing </li> <li>Working knowledge of wire harness assembly processes: wire prep, crimping, soldering, connector insertion, and harness routing </li> <li>Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards </li> <li>Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions </li> <li>Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset </li> <li>Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident)  </li> </ul> Preferred:  <ul> <li>Prior experience as a manufacturing, build or sustaining engineer  </li> <li>Extensive technical authoring experience i.e. developing engineering masters, dispositioning non conformances, etc.  </li> <li>High degree of ownership, self-starting and proactive with a bias toward action and solutions  </li> <li>Experience in an aerospace or defense manufacturing environment </li> <li>Exposure to NASA 8739.4 workmanship requirements </li> <li>Familiarity with MIL-spec connectors and contacts (D-sub, LEMO, Glenair, Amphenol, etc.) </li> <li>IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS or CIT certification </li> <li>Experience with NCR or nonconformance management workflows </li> </ul> Success in This Role Looks Like:  Within 3–6 months, you will have:  <ul> <li>Become a trusted technical resource on the floor – technicians know to come to you first </li> <li>Achieved consistent NCR disposition turnaround within SLA with clear, documented rationale </li> <li>Supported at least one full first article cycle from kit verification through build completion and redline capture </li> <li>Demonstrated a consistent quality-first approach that has visibly reduced rework or build stops on your assigned product families </li> </ul> Compensation:   <ul> <li>Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.  </li> <li>Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 </li> <li>This is an onsite role at our factory in Cypress, CA.   </li> </ul> Benefits:   <ul> <li>Unmatched opportunities to drive impact on a friendly and mission-driven team  </li> <li>Own a piece of the pie with equity participation!
