We strive to instill in all of our employees: <ul> <li>A positive mental attitude that helps us to be a leader in the industry</li> <li>A commitment to building strong relationships, both inside and outside the organization</li> <li>A desire to learn, grow, and contribute to moving our strategy forward</li> <li>A need to create and to innovate</li> </ul></div>Employment Type: Full Time Shift: 1st Shift Work Status: Onsite Position Summary:  The Welder Fitter B performs a wide variety of standardized and customized welding duties on mostly standard and some custom engineered parts.  They perform custom weldment fit up on heat exchangers of all sizes and weights using the gas metal arc welding/flux cored arc welding (GMAW/FCAW) welding process.  This role will assist Welder A’s or other team members when needed. Measures of Success <ul> <li>Full understanding of relevant Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and the ability to follow all parameters within. </li> <li>Timely completion of all welding operations within the operational time limits and according to Taco’s quality protocols</li> <li>Successfully troubleshoot moderately complex welding and fit-up issues independently</li> </ul> Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: <ul> <li>Works mostly independently using drawings, specifications, WPS and verbal instructions. </li> <li>Uses various types of welding equipment and a variety of common hand and power tools. </li> <li>Will fit up and fully weld heat exchangers and less complicated tanks including custom fabrications, with minimal guidance by reading and interpreting standard and custom part drawings. This work will take place at normal working heights.</li> <li>Uses FCAW/GMAW welding process, with or without backing, in the flat, horizontal, vertical positions, on both Steel, Stainless-Steel and Duplex Stainless-Steel materials.</li> <li>Uses gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) welding process for welding 300 series and Duplex Stainless Steels.</li> <li>Must be proficient in Stainless Steel welding and understand the complexities and required practices for welding Stainless Steel.</li> <li>Will weld full penetration welds on small diameter pipe using the GMAW process</li> <li>Reads appropriate Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and is capable of interpreting welding variables and assures that all parameters within the WPS are adhered to.</li> <li>Monitors quality of work, makes corrective adjustments and reports equipment malfunctions, defective materials or other unusual conditions to supervisor.</li> <li>Maintains necessary records, completes transactions within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and accesses company intranet as needed for work instructions.</li> <li>Ensures their own safety and that of team members.</li> <li>Troubleshoots engineering drawings and reviews with management when issues are identified.</li> <li>Maintains work area in neat, clean, and orderly condition and observes all safety regulations and practices.</li> </ul> Qualifications Required: <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li> <li data-leveltext="-" data-font="Calibri" data-listid="7" data-list-defn-props="{"134224900":false,"335551671":0,"335552541":1,"335559685":720,"335559991":360,"469769226":"Calibri","469769242":[8226],"469777803":"left","469777804":"-","469777815":"hybridMultilevel"}" data-aria-posinset="5" data-aria-level="1">Must be able to pass American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Section IX welding tests with the following variables:    <ul> <li>FCAW/GMAW and SAW processes</li> <li>Steel-steel, steel-stainless, stainless-stainless material</li> <li>Flat, horizontal and vertical positions</li> <li>With or without backing</li> <li>Small pipe diameter in rotated horizontal position</li> </ul> </li> <li>5+ years of welding experience using drawings, specifications, charts and welding equipment</li> <li>Knowledge of shop math and basic geometry concepts</li> <li>Must be proficient in numerous welding procedure specifications including small pipe qualification and various welding positions</li> <li>Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and effectively apply to assigned work </li> <li>Ability to navigate multiple windows in company ERP system to access production and resource data</li> <li>Ability to perform repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity and including standing and lifting for extended periods of time, sometimes at height of up to 10 feet</li> <li>Ability to manage time effectively to meet strict time deadlines and production volumes </li> <li>Requires judgment to comply with instructions, solve problems, and the ability to solve minor technical issues without guidance </li> <li>Travel: minimal to none </li> </ul> Preferred <ul> <li>Graduate of a welding and fabrication vocational or technical training program  </li> <li>1+ year experience in a pipe, pressure vessel or structural welding shop </li> </ul> Work Environment This position works primarily in a production floor environment where large equipment and noise are prevalent.  Safety gear is required in these areas.  This position requires extensive physical labor.  This position also requires occasional work in confined space. This position reports into the site every day.
