<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>
<p>The Mohs Histotechnician plays a vital role in supporting the Mohs surgeon by ensuring accurate and efficient preparation of tissue specimens. This includes assisting with specimen grossing, tissue processing, embedding, cutting, staining, and maintaining a clean and well-functioning laboratory environment.</p>
<p><strong>Pay and Hours:</strong></p>
<p>Pay range - $40- $50 hourly, Hours are four days weekly, 10 hours daily.</p>
<p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>
<p>To perform effectively in this role, the candidate must fulfill the following duties with or without reasonable accommodations:</p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of histology, laboratory procedures, and quality control standards.</li>
<li>Embed, cut, stain, and mount tissue specimens efficiently and in adherence to established policies, procedures, and laboratory standards.</li>
<li>Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with superiors, peers, physicians, and patients.</li>
<li>Maintain strong organizational abilities and proficiency in relevant computer applications.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>24 semester hours in medical laboratory technology courses, OR</li>
<li>24 semester hours in science courses, with at least 6 hours in chemistry, 6 hours in biology, and 12 hours in a combination of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology.</li>
<li>Associate degree in chemical or biological sciences or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.</li>
<li>Completion of 60 semester hours (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.</li>
<li>Minimum of 1 year of experience working with Mohs procedures.</li>
<li>Certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL, ASCP) or Histotechnician (HT, ASCP).</li>
<li>Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and laboratory equipment operation.</li>
<li>Mohs Surgery Experience</li>
</ul>
