Join us and discover what it means to work for a company that truly values its people.  </div>  Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Health & Safety Specialist to support the implementation and continuous improvement of our safety programs. This role is key in promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA and ISO 45001 standards, and reducing risks from workplace hazards. Key Responsibilities <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop and manage safety programs in compliance with OSHA, ISO 45001, and internal standards</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Serve as the site lead for ISO 45001 and OHSAS 18001 systems</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Conduct and update Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Identify hazard controls and recommend process and equipment improvements</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Inspect facilities and equipment to ensure compliance and minimize risks</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Review new equipment and facility plans for safety compliance</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Handling workman's compensation claims</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Prepare and submit required safety reports to internal and external stakeholders</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Monitor environmental conditions (air, noise, temperature, etc.) for compliance</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Support safety committees and employee engagement initiatives</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Deliver safety training to employees and contractors</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Conduct audits and contribute to safety performance improvement</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Liaise with emergency services and health professionals as needed</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Analyze safety data to identify trends and inform preventative actions</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Perform other duties as assigned</li> </ul> Qualifications <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (preferred)</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Electrical safety a plus</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, ISO 45001, and hazard mitigation principles</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience with inspections, training, audits, and root cause analysis</li> </ul> Credentials <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Safety Engineer license or certification (preferred)</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">CSP, CIH, or equivalent EHS certifications a plus</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">ISO 45001 internal auditor certification (preferred)</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">NFPA 70E certification a plus</li> </ul> Physical Requirements <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods across large operational areas</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to climb, bend, and access elevated or confined spaces for inspections</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Comfortable wearing required PPE and working in a variety of environmental conditions (noise, heat, etc.)</li> </ul> Join an organization that values safety, invests in its people, and leads the way in EHS performance.      <div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description">Statewide Law</div><div class="title">North Carolina</div><div class="pay-range">$80,000—$95,000 USD</div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion">Equal Opportunity Employer Compliance Management International (CMI) is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
