The Hardware team is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to participate in future instrument development. As part of Eikon’s diverse team of biologists, medicinal chemists, hardware, and software engineers, you will design and deploy custom super-resolution microscopes and automated systems that will enable the exploration and quantification of Eikon’s high-content datasets.  About you You are an adventurous, passionate, and creative electrical engineer eager to apply your talents to empower a new way of discovering medicines in a highly interdisciplinary biopharmaceutical environment. What you’ll do <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> Join an engineering team designing super-resolution microscopes, including signal processing, motion control, robotics and system automation that enables Eikon’s scientific achievements</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> Contribute to system design architecture of instrument control and data acquisition systems</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Design, prototype, and test electronic assemblies. Work closely with the microscopy and automation teams on design validation, implementation, and design improvements </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Build and release assemblies to be used by scientists and end-users, creating a full suite of documentation and test procedures </li> </ul> Qualifications <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"> Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience designing complex digital and analog circuity</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Systems design experience contributing to design architecture</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability and desire to bring your design through all stages including directing PCBA layout, working with contract manufacturers, testing, debugging and rework of high density PCBAs with fine pitch components </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong experience debugging systems using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Hands-on experience building test set-ups, reworking and modifying assemblies during development and testing</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience in high-speed circuitry design such as DDR memory interfaces </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Proficiency with CAD systems for schematic capture and experience in directing and reviewing PCB layout for signal integrity and EMI </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience in debugging and design validation of microcontrollers or SoC-based systems  </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience creating and implementing software and hardware test benches</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrated proficiency analog circuit design, analysis, and simulation / modeling </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong communication and collaboration skills, presenting design ideas and receiving input from internal customers and product marketing</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">FPGA design and debug experience is preferred</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Intel/Altera Quartusexperience and SystemVerilog proficiency is preferred </li> </ul> At Eikon, employee compensation also includes bonus and equity compensation, in addition to several generous benefit programs, including: <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">401k plan with company matching</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Medical (premiums covered by Eikon at 95%), dental and vision insurance (premiums covered by Eikon at 100%)</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Mental health and wellness benefits</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Weeklong summer and winter holiday shutdowns</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Generous paid time off and holiday policies</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Life/AD&D Insurance (premiums covered by Eikon at 100%) and optional supplemental employee-paid life/AD&D policies </li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Enhanced parental leave benefit</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Daily subsidized lunch program when on-site</li> </ul> The expected salary range for this role is $152,000 to $168,000 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.<div class="content-conclusion">Eikon is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants for employment.
