<p><strong>Buckner International:</strong> Camp Buckner<strong><br>Location: </strong>Burnet, TX - Onsite<strong><br>Address: </strong>3835 FM2342, Burnet, TX 78611<strong><br></strong><strong>Job Schedule:&nbsp;</strong>Occasional</p> <p>Camp Buckner is an interdenominational, recreational, faith-based retreat and conference center that offers services to churches, youth groups, businesses, and other various ministries.&nbsp; As an <strong>Lifeguard,</strong> you have the opportunity to impact the lives of retreat guests and group leaders by ensuring the safety and well-being of campers and guests by monitoring swimming areas, enforcing rules and regulations, and responding promptly to emergencies.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong><br>As a member of our team, you will have an impact on our clients through the accomplishment of the following responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor swimming areas to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all individuals in and around the water.</li> <li>Enforce swimming and safety rules and regulations to maintain order and prevent hazardous behavior.</li> <li>Conduct regular inspections of the swimming area, equipment, and facilities to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance issues.</li> <li>Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including water rescues, first aid situations, and other incidents, following established protocols and procedures.</li> <li>Provide excellent customer service to campers and guests by answering questions, addressing concerns, and fostering a positive, welcoming atmosphere.</li> <li>Assist with the setup and cleanup of waterfront areas, including setting up lifeguard stands, arranging chairs and umbrellas, and organizing equipment.</li> <li>Participate in training sessions and drills to maintain lifeguard certification and readiness to respond to emergencies.</li> <li>Collaborate with other lifeguards and camp staff to coordinate activities, schedule breaks, and ensure adequate coverage of swimming areas.</li> <li>Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and staff members, providing information about water safety, activities, and schedules as needed.</li> <li>Serve as a role model for campers, demonstrating good sportsmanship, respect for others, and adherence to camp rules and values.</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You’ll Bring to the Team</strong><br>To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team, we need you to come with the following:</p> <ul> <li>Some high school-level education/courses required. Must be 16 years of age or older.</li> <li>A current certification or the willingness to obtain and maintain certifications in Lifeguarding and Waterfront Skills from a Nationally Recognized Certification Program.</li> <li>Current certification or the willingness to obtain and maintain certifications in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers and Responding to Emergencies: First Aid from a Nationally Recognized Certification Program.</li> <li>Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and /or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects.</li> <li>Thrives in dynamic environments with the ability to manage multiple priorities.</li> <li>Ability to understand and carry out detailed oral and written instructions.</li> <li>Ability to speak clearly and make self understood effectively in face-to-face interactions; articulate with accuracy when speaking on the phone.</li> </ul> <p>EEO</p> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><em>The same way we treat our employees is how we treat all applicants – with respect.
