As a Lifestyle Associate, you will play an important role in providing physical and emotional support and assistance that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. Join our team and inspire happiness in the lives of others! Your main responsibilities will be but are not limited to plan and coordinate engaging programs and events that support residents’ social, spiritual, physical, intellectual, and recreational well-being. Develop activities based on residents’ individual needs and preferences, while creating meaningful opportunities for socialization, education, recreation, and spiritual support. What you'll do: <ul> <li>Regularly survey and interview residents and work with resident led committee to determine the residents’ past and present interests, talents, and their satisfaction with community programs and activities.</li> <li>Develop and implement activities for the residents in accordance with their needs. Recognize the individuality, diversity and spirituality of all residents when planning activities and celebrating holiday functions.</li> <li>Provide quality activities to residents in an environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality.</li> <li>Provide individualized attention to each resident to encourage each resident’s ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental and psychosocial wellbeing.</li> <li>Assist in developing and coordinating activities and programs for residents including games, reading, listening, and organizing community involvement.</li> <li>Attend to the individual needs of residents which includes providing assistance with communications application, technology based requests activities and identifying residents’ reactions to the various activities.</li> <li>Use initiative and judgment to adapt programs to meet the needs of individual residents as well as the changing conditions of each resident.</li> <li>Promote positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.</li> <li>Develop and maintain communications of planned activities/programs. Communicate opportunities and success stories to residents and employees through newsletters, meetings, etc.</li> <li>Coordinate the transportation of residents to and from events outside of the residence.</li> <li>Maintain communication through various forms of media including but not limited to social applications, inter-community technology, newsletters, community announcements, and regularly scheduled meetings.</li> </ul>  What you’ll bring: <ul> <li>A High School Diploma (or G.E.D.). Prior related experience in wellness, fitness or recreational therapy in senior living preferred. Sales and marketing experience preferred.</li> <li>Requires proficient working knowledge of the aging process as it relates to senior adults in an independent living setting.</li> <li>Requires knowledge of residents’ rights and ability to ensure an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.</li> <li>Requires ability to organize activities and work with other departments and/or units to implement the activities.</li> <li>Requires ability to encourage teamwork with residents and/or staff members.</li> <li>Requires ability to effectively communicate with residents, staff members, family members, visitors and the public utilizing excellent customer service skills.</li> <li>Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English.</li> <li>Requires ability to work independently with moderate supervision; ability to adapt to changing conditions and frequent demands; ability to acquire new knowledge.</li> <li>Requires ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings.</li> <li>Requires ability to maintain confidentiality.</li> <li>Requires proficient ability to exhibit detail-oriented skills necessary to understand and manage a wide-range of information.</li> <li>Proficient working knowledge and ability to accurately and timely operate and perform computer related tasks with specific equipment and software applications required.</li> <li>Requires commitment to Christian principles and teachings, per Buckner’s mission.</li> <li>Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds continuously to move objects.</li> <li>Requires sufficient strength, mobility and stamina to make frequent location and position changes and perform other physical activities of average difficulty.</li> <li>Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time. Requires ability to bend, stoop, twist, turn, lift, and climb stairs.</li> <li>Requires sufficient good health to properly discharge duties.
