About the Role

About Bobyard

Construction is a multi-trillion-dollar industry that still estimates by hand. Contractors measure and count materials off drawings manually, and it caps how many jobs they can bid. Bobyard uses computer vision and NLP to automate takeoffs and estimates, so contractors bid faster and win more. We raised a $35M Series A led by 8VC, with Primary and Pear, and we're growing fast.

About the role

We ask estimators to trust AI with work where mistakes cost real money. You'll own features end to end, often from incomplete requirements, and make AI results fast to check and easy to correct. Success is estimators using what you shipped without calling support.

What you'll do

• Own features from PRD to production: problem, flows, validation, QA
• Design review and correction flows estimators trust
• Sit in demos and customer calls until you read drawings like an estimator
• Cut scope at lo-fi with PM and engineering so v1 ships fast
• Extend our Figma design system with patterns every trade can reuse
• Prototype in code and take small UI fixes to a pull request

What we're looking for

• 2+ years shipping complex B2B SaaS or workflow-heavy products
• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic or Visual Design, Computer Science, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and specialized experience
• A portfolio showing interaction design, visual hierarchy, and decisions changed by user research
• Fluent in Figma: components, variables, auto layout, prototyping
• Uses AI tools daily and knows enough HTML/CSS to work in the codebase
• Strong product sense. You know what to cut and why

Nice to have

• Designed AI/ML features: confidence signals, human-in-the-loop correction
• Construction, estimating, or CAD experience
• Built or scaled a design system

A note on pace

We move fast, and priorities shift as we learn from customers. Playbooks, context, and requirements are often incomplete when work starts, and you'll be expected to shape them. If that pace excites you, you'll fit in well.
