Engineered to survive the harshest radiation environments and to fully capitalize on today’s and tomorrow’s massive rockets, K2 satellites deliver unmatched capability at constellation scale and across multiple orbits.  With multiple launches planned through 2026 and 2027, we're Building Bigger to develop the solar system and become a Kardashev Type II (K2) civilization. If you are a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and you're excited about contributing to the success of a groundbreaking Series C space startup, we’d love for you to apply. </div>The Role  You will support assembly and testing of the Mega Class satellite subsystems including batteries, mechanisms, and avionics boxes. This role will support build and thermal ATP of precision flight hardware following detailed procedures and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter and has strong attention to detail to ensure quality and reliability of electro-mechanical components. You will work closely with Engineering and Quality to identify issues early and execute reliable builds.   Responsibilities  <ul> <li>Assemble, test, and rework electro-mechanical hardware including batteries, reaction wheels, and flight computers </li> <li>Follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing procedures, performing all work in the MES system (scanning, material consumption, and built traceability)  </li> <li>Fabricate and terminate small harnesses within assemblies </li> <li>Support functional testing, environmental testing, and troubleshooting </li> <li>Set up, operate, and monitor thermal chambers during thermal cycles  </li> <li>Occasionally support component integration onto the satellite bus </li> <li>Practice 5S principles of organizing and sustaining an efficient and presentable workspace </li> <li>Provide consistent process improvement feedback to engineering and production leadership </li> </ul> Qualifications  <ul> <li>5+ years of experience assembling, integrating, and testing flight hardware in the aerospace industry </li> <li>Proficiency with computers and ability to use MS Office and shop floor management software </li> <li>Demonstrated high level of ownership and problem-solving abilities </li> <li>Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements </li> </ul> Nice to Have  <ul> <li>Ability to read mechanical and engineering drawings and interpret tolerances (including GD&T) </li> <li>Experience working with engineering teams in development and production environments </li> <li>Experience working with electromechanical systems and familiarity with electrical schematics </li> <li>Strong communication skills with ability to communicate hardware and systems problems, and provide feedback on improving tooling processes and part design </li> </ul> Additional Requirements  <ul> <li>Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as bending or twisting, grasping, standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, carrying, and use hands to operate tools or machine controls </li> <li>Must be able to lift and carry parts or equipment up to 50 lbs. unassisted </li> <li>Must be able to stand for extended periods of time </li> <li>Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed </li> </ul> Compensation and Benefits:  <ul> <li>Hourly pay range for this non-exempt role is $38 - $48 + equity in the company </li> <li>Compensation will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level </li> <li>Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, paid parental leave, and many other perks </li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion">If you don’t meet 100% of the preferred skills and experience, we encourage you to still apply!
